<span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Is he thankful to the servant because he did the things having been commanded? <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Thus you also, when you may have done all the <i>things</i> having been commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have done that which we were bound to do.’” </p><p class="hdg">The Ten Lepers<br /><span class="cross">(2 Kings 5:1-14)</span></p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And it came to pass in going up to Jerusalem, that He was passing through <i>the</i> midst of Samaria and Galilee. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And on His entering into a certain village, ten leprous<span class="fn"><a href="#fna" title="Leprosy was a term for several skin diseases. See Leviticus 13.">a</a></span> men met Him, who stood afar off. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And they lifted up <i>their</i> voice, saying, “Jesus, Master, have compassion on us.” </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And having seen <i>them</i>, He said to them, <span class="red">“Having gone, show yourselves to the priests.”</span> And it came to pass in their going, they were cleansed. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And one of them, having seen that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and he fell on <i>his</i> face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And Jesus, having answered, said, <span class="red">“Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>Was there found none having returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?”</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>And He said to him, <span class="red">“Having risen up go forth; your faith has cured you!”</span><span class="fn"><a href="#fnb" title="Or ‘has saved you’">b</a></span> </p><p class="hdg">The Coming of the Kingdom</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God is coming, He answered them and said, <span class="red">“The kingdom of God does not come with careful observation, <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>nor will they say, ‘Behold here,’ or ‘There.’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”</span><span class="fn"><a href="#fnc" title="Or ‘within you’, or ‘within your grasp’">c</a></span> </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And He said to the disciples, <span class="red">“<i>The</i> days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see <i>it</i>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>And they will say to you, ‘Behold there,’ or ‘Behold here.’ Do not go forth nor follow. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>For as the lightning shines, flashing from the <i>one end</i> of the sky to the <i>other end</i> of the sky, thus the Son of Man will be in His day. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>But first it behooves Him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation.</span> </p><p class="red"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, thus also will it be in the days of the Son of Man: <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until that day Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed all. </p><p class="red"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>Likewise, as it came to pass in the days of Lot, they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>and in that day Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed all. </p><p class="red"><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>It will be according to these in that day the Son of Man is revealed. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>In that day, the <i>one who</i> will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, do not let him come down to take them away; and likewise the <i>one</i> in <i>the</i> field, do not let him return to the things behind. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>Remember Lot’s wife! <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>Whoever may seek to save his life will lose it; but whoever will lose <i>it</i> will preserve it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span>I say to you, in that night there will be two upon one bed: The one will be taken, and the other will be left. <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span>There will be two <i>women</i> grinding at the same <i>place</i>: The one will be taken, and the other will be left.”<span class="fn"><a href="#fnd" title="See Matthew 24:40.
