<h3>OFFICE ORDER - IASc No/IGC 68 /2023-24-02 Dated: 04/10/2023 </h3> <p>The Secretariat of the Academy has approved the constitution of an Internal Grievance Committee with the following composition: </p> <ol> <li><strong>Maheshchandra N </strong>(Executive Secretary, Ex-officio Chair and Staff Grievance Redressal Officer) </li> <li><strong> A. Shashidhar </strong>(Accounts Officer, Ex-officio Member) </li> <li><strong> Dr T D Mahabaleswara </strong>(Executive Editor, Member)</li> <li><strong> Sushila Rajagopal </strong> (Copy Editor, Member)</li> <li><strong> Geetha K </strong> (Administrative Assistant, Member)</li> </ol> <p>1. Grievance Redressal Procedure at the Academy: Objectives of the Internal Grievance Committee: Provide easy access for ventilating grievances, including those grievances of SC/ST/OBC and minority community which relate to discrimination at work place. Guidelines/Government's instructions regarding handling of grievance shall be followed <p> <a href="https://www.ias.ac.in/public/Resources/General/OM/IGC_2023.pdf" target="_blank" >(copy enclosed)</a> </p> <p>2. Scope of the Internal Grievance Committee: (i) The Committee shall consider only individual grievances of specific nature of an employee at her/his workplace. Grievances of employees relating to issues of sexual harassment are not under the purview of this committee. (ii) Any grievance of general applicability or of collective nature raised collectively by more than one employee. </p> <p>3. Appellate Authority: The President of the Indian Academy of Sciences will act as Appellate Authority in the following circumstances: (a) in case an employee is not satisfied with the decision of the IGC. (b) The Executive Secretary is of the opinion that the decision on the basis of the IGC would have wider implications, financial or otherwise.
