I shall eat so that my soul may bless you before I die.”<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And Raphqa heard when Isaaq spoke to Esau his son, and Esau went on to the field to hunt game to bring. <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And Raphqa said to Yaquuv her son, “Behold, I heard your father, saying to Esau your brother, <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>‘Bring to me game and make stew for me and I shall eat and I shall bless you in the presence of LORD JEHOVAH before my death.’ <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Now my son, listen to my voice, whatever I command you. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>Go to the flock and take for me from there two goats of the better goats, and I shall make them stew for your father as he loves: <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And I shall bring it to your father and he will eat and he will bless you in the presence of LORD JEHOVAH before his death. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And Yaquuv said to Raphqa his mother, “Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man and I am a smooth man: <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>It may be my father will feel me and I shall be in his eyes as a mocker and you bring against me a curse and not a blessing.” <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And his mother said to him, “Let your curse be upon me, my son, only hear my voice and go get it for me.” <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And he went on, he took and he brought it to his mother and his mother made stew just as his father loved. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And Raphqa took a choice garment of Esau her elder son that she had with her in the house and she clothed Yaquuv her younger son: <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And she wrapped the skin of a kid of the goats on his hands and upon the smooth of his neck. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And she gave the stew and the bread that she had made to Yaquuv her son.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And he brought it to his father and said, “My father”, and he said, “Here I am”, and he said, “Who are you, my son?”<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And Yaquuv said to his father, “I am your son, your first born, Esau. I have done as you said to me; arise, sit and eat of my game so your soul may bless me.” <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And Isaaq said to his son, “What is this that you have found so quickly, my son?” And he said, “That which LORD JEHOVAH your God has prepared before me.” <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And Isaaq said to Yaquuv, his son, “Come near; now I shall feel you my son, if you are my son Esau or not.” <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And Yaquuv came to Isaaq his father and he felt him and he said, “The voice of Yaquuv and the feel of the hands of Esau.” <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And he did not recognize him because his hands were like the hands of Esau his hairy brother, and he blessed him. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And he said “Is this you, my son Esau?” and he said, “I am.” <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And he said to him, “Come to me; I shall eat of the game of my son, so my soul will bless you”, and he came to him and he ate and he brought wine to him and he drank. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And Isaaq his father said to him, “Come near and kiss me, my son.”<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And he came near and he kissed him and he smelled the fragrance of his clothing and he blessed him and said, “See, the fragrance of my son is like the fragrance of a field that LORD JEHOVAH has blessed:<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>God will give to you from the dew of Heaven and from the fat of the Earth and an abundance of grain and of wine.<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>The nations shall serve you and the peoples shall bow down to you; be the head to your brethren and the children of your mother will bow to you; those cursing you are cursed and those blessing you are blessed.”<p> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And when Isaaq had finished blessing Yaquuv and Yaquuv went out from the presence of Isaaq his father, behold, Esau his brother came from his hunting. <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>He also had made stew and brought it to his father and said to his father, “Let my father rise and let him eat of his son’s game, so that your soul may bless me.” <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>Isaaq his father said to him, “Who are you?” And he said, “I am your son, your firstborn, Esau.” <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And his father sorrowed a great and very powerful sorrow and he said, “Who indeed is he that hunted game and he brought it to me and I ate of it all before you came?
