<A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>And Isaaq said to him, &#8220;Behold, I am old and I do not know the day that I die. <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>Now take your weapons your sword and your bow and arrows and go out to the country and hunt game <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And make stew like I love and bring it to me; I shall eat so that my soul may bless you before I die.&#8221;<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And Raphqa heard when Isaaq spoke to Esau his son, and Esau went on to the field to hunt game to bring. <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And Raphqa said to Yaquuv her son, &#8220;Behold, I heard your father, saying to Esau your brother, <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>&#8216;Bring to me game and make stew for me and I shall eat and I shall bless you in the presence of LORD JEHOVAH before my death.&#8217; <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Now my son, listen to my voice, whatever I command you. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>Go to the flock and take for me from there two goats of the better goats, and I shall make them stew for your father as he loves: <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And I shall bring it to your father and he will eat and he will bless you in the presence of LORD JEHOVAH before his death. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And Yaquuv said to Raphqa his mother, &#8220;Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man and I am a smooth man: <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>It may be my father will feel me and I shall be in his eyes as a mocker and you bring against me a curse and not a blessing.&#8221; <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And his mother said to him, &#8220;Let your curse be upon me, my son, only hear my voice and go get it for me.&#8221; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And he went on, he took and he brought it to his mother and his mother made stew just as his father loved. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And Raphqa took a choice garment of Esau her elder son that she had with her in the house and she clothed Yaquuv her younger son: <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And she wrapped the skin of a kid of the goats on his hands and upon the smooth of his neck. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And she gave the stew and the bread that she had made to Yaquuv her son.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And he brought it to his father and said, &#8220;My father&#8221;, and he said, &#8220;Here I am&#8221;, and he said, &#8220;Who are you, my son?&#8221;<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And Yaquuv said to his father, &#8220;I am your son, your first born, Esau. I have done as you said to me; arise, sit and eat of my game so your soul may bless me.&#8221; <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And Isaaq said to his son, &#8220;What is this that you have found so quickly, my son?&#8221; And he said, &#8220;That which LORD JEHOVAH your God has prepared before me.&#8221; <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And Isaaq said to Yaquuv, his son, &#8220;Come near; now I shall feel you my son, if you are my son Esau or not.&#8221; <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And Yaquuv came to Isaaq his father and he felt him and he said, &#8220;The voice of Yaquuv and the feel of the hands of Esau.&#8221; <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And he did not recognize him because his hands were like the hands of Esau his hairy brother, and he blessed him. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And he said &#8220;Is this you, my son Esau?&#8221; and he said, &#8220;I am.&#8221; <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And he said to him, &#8220;Come to me; I shall eat of the game of my son, so my soul will bless you&#8221;, and he came to him and he ate and he brought wine to him and he drank. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And Isaaq his father said to him, &#8220;Come near and kiss me, my son.&#8221;<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And he came near and he kissed him and he smelled the fragrance of his clothing and he blessed him and said, &#8220;See, the fragrance of my son is like the fragrance of a field that LORD JEHOVAH has blessed:<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>God will give to you from the dew of Heaven and from the fat of the Earth and an abundance of grain and of wine.<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>The nations shall serve you and the peoples shall bow down to you; be the head to your brethren and the children of your mother will bow to you; those cursing you are cursed and those blessing you are blessed.&#8221;<p> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And when Isaaq had finished blessing Yaquuv and Yaquuv went out from the presence of Isaaq his father, behold, Esau his brother came from his hunting. <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>He also had made stew and brought it to his father and said to his father, &#8220;Let my father rise and let him eat of his son&#8217;s game, so that your soul may bless me.&#8221; <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>Isaaq his father said to him, &#8220;Who are you?&#8221; And he said, &#8220;I am your son, your firstborn, Esau.&#8221; <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/27-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And his father sorrowed a great and very powerful sorrow and he said, &#8220;Who indeed is he that hunted game and he brought it to me and I ate of it all before you came?
