CNI was founded as a venue for collaboration on networked information technologies and resources, particularly among librarians and information technologists with a focus on the higher education and research enterprise.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">As the premier organization fostering collaboration between library and information technology communities, CNI represents the interests of over <a href="https://www.cni.org/about-cni/membership/members/">200 member institutions</a> from higher education, publishing, information technology, scholarly and professional organizations, foundations, libraries, library organizations, and other sectors. Semi-annual <a href="https://www.cni.org/events/membership-meetings/">membership meetings</a> bring together CNI member representatives to discuss projects and plan for future initiatives. CNI is entirely funded through membership dues.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">CNI is based in Washington, D.C., and is led by Executive Director <a href="https://www.cni.org/about-cni/staff/clifford-a-lynch/">Clifford A.
