name="2"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-1.htm#aramaic"><b>1</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe: “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says LORD JEHOVAH, God of the Hebrews, “Send out my people and they will serve me. <A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>And if you choose not to send away, and until now you are holding onto them, <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>Behold, the hand of LORD JEHOVAH will be on your cattle that are in the wilderness, on the horses, and on the donkeys, and on the camels, and on the oxen, and on the sheep, a plague that is very severe. <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH will separate between the animals of Israel and the animals of the Egyptians, and no animal of the house of Israel will die, not even one.’” <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH gave the time that LORD JEHOVAH would make this response in the land: “Tomorrow.” <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH made this response the day after it, and all beasts of the Egyptians died, and of the beasts of the house of Israel, not even one died. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And Pharaoh sent and he saw that not even one of the beasts of Israel died, and the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he did not send the people out.<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe and Aaron: “Make full your handfuls of the ashes of a furnace, and let Moshe scatter them before the face of Heaven, before the eyes of Pharaoh. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And there will be dust in all the land of Egypt and there will be on the children of men and upon beast, abscesses of blisters that multiply in all the land of Egypt.” <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And they took the ash of a furnace and they stood before Pharaoh, and Moshe scattered it toward the sky before the eyes of Pharaoh and there were abscesses of boils, and it flew among the children of men and among beasts. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And the Sorcerers were unable to stand before Moshe because of the abscesses that multiplied among the Sorcerers and in all Egypt. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH hardened the heart of Pharaoh and he did not listen to them, as LORD JEHOVAH had said to Moshe.<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe, “Arise at dawn and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, “Thus says LORD JEHOVAH, God of the Hebrews: ‘Send out my people and they will serve me. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>Because at this time I am sending my plague on your heart and upon your Servants and upon your people, so that you may know there is none like me in all the Earth. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Because now I stretch out my hands and I strike you and your people with slaughter and you will be destroyed from the Earth. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And moreover it is for this that I raised you up so that I shall show you my power and so that My Name will be proclaimed in all the Earth. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And until now you hold onto the people and you do not desire to send them away.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>Tomorrow at this time I shall bring very strong hail that is unlike any in Egypt from the day that it was built even until now. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And now send and gather your animals and everything that you have in the wilderness, every son of man and the animals that are found in the field, and upon those not assembled within a house the hail will fall and they will die. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>He who was in awe of the word of LORD JEHOVAH from the Servants of Pharaoh gathered his Servants and his animals into the house: <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And he who did not take the word of LORD JEHOVAH to his heart left his Servants and his animals in the field.<p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe, “Lift your hand before the face of Heaven and there will be hail in all the land of Egypt, on children of men and upon beast and upon all grass that is in the field that is in the land of Egypt.” <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And Moshe lifted his staff before the face of Heaven, and LORD JEHOVAH gave a noise, and hail and fire was walking on the ground, and LORD JEHOVAH brought down the hail on the land of Egypt. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And hail was coming down, and flaming fire was inside the hail; it was very severe, the likes of which there had not been in all the land of Egypt from the day that it became a nation. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And the hail beat on all the land of Egypt, all that is in the wilderness, from children of men and unto beast, and the hail destroyed all grass of the field and it broke all trees that were in the field. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Only in the land of Gashan where the children of Israel were dwelling did the hail not fall.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/9-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And Pharaoh sent and he called Moshe and Aaron and said to them, “I have sinned this time.
