policy owners of life and general insurance policies covered under the Scheme and issued by direct life and direct general insurers which are PPF Scheme members. The policy owners may be individuals or non-individuals, such as companies.</p> </div> </div> <div class="wpb_text_column wpb_content_element "> <div class="wpb_wrapper"> <h5 class="ng-scope"><span style="color: #265e95">Types of life insurance policies covered</span></h5> <p>The PPF Scheme protects life insurance policies (including riders) issued by licensed life insurers which are PPF Scheme members. The Scheme covers policies issued in Singapore by a licensed life insurer to both residents and non- residents of Singapore. It does not cover policies issued by overseas branches of a licensed life insurer incorporated in Singapore. Examples of life insurance policies covered include:</p> <ul> <li>Individual and group term life policies</li> <li>Individual and group whole life policies</li> <li>Individual and group endowment policies</li> <li>Individual and group annuities</li> <li>Individual and group long-term accident and health (A&H) policies</li> </ul> <p class="ng-scope">(referred to collectively as “life insured policies”)</p> <p class="ng-scope">Any accumulated values, including interest accrued on such values, of coupon deposits, advance premium payments and unclaimed monies under all insured policies are also covered.</p> </div> </div> <div class="wpb_text_column wpb_content_element "> <div class="wpb_wrapper"> <h5 class="ng-scope"><span style="color: #265e95">Types of general insurance policies covered</span></h5> <p>The PPF Scheme protects all compulsory insurance policies under the Motor Vehicles (Third Party Risks and Compensation) Act and Work Injury Compensation Act and short- term accident and health (A&H) policies, issued by PPF Scheme members. The PPF Scheme also covers policies of specified personal lines issued to individuals only by PPF Scheme members where the risks arise in Singapore or the policy owner is resident in Singapore. The types of specified personal lines covered are:</p> <ul> <li>Personal motor insurance policies</li> <li>Personal travel insurance policies</li> <li>Personal property (structured and contents) insurance policies</li> <li>Foreign domestic maid insurance policies</li> </ul> <p class="ng-scope">(referred to collectively as “general insured policies”)</p> <p class="ng-scope">Each PPF Scheme member maintains a register of types of insured policies that are covered under the PPF Scheme.
