My CEO is getting really frustrated and I’m out of ideas…

The problem was first noticed on January 7th, which just happens to coincide with the latest Ubiquiti Network app automatic update (v9.0.108). I have an open support case with Ubiquiti, but they aren’t doing enough to help me get to the bottom of this, and if I can’t resolve it by the end of the week, I’m going to bring in a networking expert (I’m a generalist system admin).

Our network spans two physical locations, about a mile apart with direct line-of-sight, that are connected via redundant Ubiquiti airFiber 60LR antennas. Link potential is normally around 95% with <2% usage reported in my UISP console. This setup has been working great for over two years now.

We are mainly experiencing the issue at our main (Southern) site, which is entirely UniFi network devices (see the topology screenshot for details). All of our VLANs, except the guest VLAN, route through the MX84 at the Northern site. The guest VLAN, which routes through the UDMP-Max at the Southern site also experiences the packet loss, so I doubt the Northern site is the problem. When I work directly at the Northern site, I have absolutely no problem with packet loss, unless I’m on a RDP session with something at the Southern site.

I’m including screens of my UniFi topology as well as some shots from the WifiMan app on my phone.

Yes, I’ve grabbed Wireshark captures, but I’m not very skilled at interpreting them, so I’m hoping someone here will volunteer to check them out for me. DM me if you’re willing to look over one of my .pcap files. Pretty please? <img src="https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12" title="" class="emoji" alt="" loading="lazy" width="20" have been experiencing intermittent packet loss for a couple of weeks now, and despite checking everything I can think of, it’s still happening.

I think it requires a factory reset to revert the Network app. I have backups from the previously good v8.6.9 version, so that’s not a problem. I’ve asked Ubiquiti for the instructions on the correct procedure to revert, and will likely do that over the weekend if they get back to me in time.

{"@type":"Person
lovetoflyguy
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/lovetoflyguy"}},{"@type":"Answer

m@ttshaw:

In general is the packet loss and delay occurring on the lan? between the south and north? or to the internet?
Hello,

We have been experiencing intermittent packet loss for a couple of weeks now, and despite checking everything I can think of, it’s still happening.
