Everything was running well until some time in January. Intermittently, coworkers get short outages lasting less than a minute, a handful of times a day. I setup a syslog server and I get a lot of LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN and LINK-3-UPDOWN, but they don’t seem to correspond to dropped packets necessarily. I got a static IP from my ISP and tested our incoming pipe as well, but there were 5 dropped packets in an hour and I think most of those were when my laptop went to sleep, so I don’t think it’s our ISP (they said as much as well). I’m a network noob, so I started looking at CCNA books, but I think it will be some time before I get to the part that will actually help with this situation.
