It includes a website, and an associated web application.</p> <p>The EDA website and web application are run by the NC3Rs <a href="https://nc3rs.org.uk" target="_blank">https://nc3rs.org.uk</a> and Certus Technology Associates Limited <a href="https://www.certus-tech.com" target="_blank">https://www.certus-tech.com</a>. We want as many people as possible to be able to use the website and the web application and have therefore made the text as simple as possible to understand throughout. </p> <p>For the website this means you should be able to:</p> <ul> <li>change colours, contrast levels and fonts</li> <li>zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen on all pages except the homepage</li> <li>navigate most of the website using just a keyboard</li> </ul> <p>However, due to the necessary functionality required for the EDA web application to work (e.g. drag and drop) we are afraid that this is not fully accessible. </p> <p>AbilityNet <a href="https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk" target="_blank">https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk</a> has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.</p> <h2 style="line-height: 28.8px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Downloads</h2> <p>The EDA website and web application predominantly use Adobe's portable document format (PDF) for document downloads, but in some cases may elect to use other formats. </p> <p>To view PDF documents, you will need to install Adobe's Reader software. This is simple to do, just visit: <a href="http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader" target="_blank">http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader</a> and follow the download instructions. This software "plug-in" will enable you to view PDF documents available on both the EDA website, as well as from the internet as a whole. Certain browsers are also capable of viewing PDF files directly.</p> <h2>Reporting accessibility problems with this website</h2> <p>We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. We aim to comply with WCAG 2.1 AA standard accessibility checkpoints as established by the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) web accessibility initiative. </p> <p>However, due to the necessary functionality required for the EDA web application to work, it is not fully accessible.</p> <h2 style="line-height: 28.8px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Compliance status</h2> <p>The EDA website and web application are partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard accessibility checkpoints. The exemptions are listed below.</p> <ul> <li>The use of white on a blue background in line with our branding is not to a compliant ratio currently. We continue to work towards this standard and will address this issue in future branding reviews.</li> </ul> <h2 style="line-height: 28.8px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Non-accessible content</h2> <p>The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons</p> <h2>Navigation and accessing information</h2> <ul> <li>There is no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option) in the EDA web application.</li> <li>It’s not possible for users to change text size without some of the content overlapping.</li> <li>Video streams do not have captions.</li> </ul> <h2>Interactive tools and transactions</h2> <ul> <li>The EDA web application is not accessible.</li> <li>The interactive web application cannot be used with a keyboard. For example, using the web application involves 2-D positioning and drag and drop, which cannot be performed without a mouse or stylus.</li> <li>The interactive web application is also harder to use when zoomed in.</li> </ul> <p>We have assessed the cost of fixing the issues with navigation and accessing information, and with interactive tools and transactions.
