Or<MG2228> what<MG5101> is the benefit<MG5622> of circumcision<MG4061>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>Great<MG4183> in every<MG3956> respect<MG5158>. First<MG4413>, that they were entrusted<MG4100> with the actual<MG3051> words<MG3051> of God<MG2316>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>What<MG5101> then<MG1063>? If<MG1487> some<MG5100> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>did not<MG569> believe<MG569>, their <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>unbelief<MG570> will not nullify<MG2673> the faithfulness<MG4102> of God<MG2316>, will it? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>Far<MG3361> from<MG3361> it! Rather<MG1161>, God<MG2316> must prove<MG1096> to<MG1096> be<MG1096> true<MG227>, though<MG1161> every<MG3956> person<MG444> <i>be found</i> a liar<MG5583>, as it is written<MG1125>: <p class="indent1stline">&#8220;SO<MG3704> THAT<MG3704> YOU ARE JUSTIFIED<MG1344> IN YOUR WORDS<MG3056>, <t><p class="indent1">AND PREVAIL<MG3528> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>WHEN<MG1722> YOU ARE JUDGED<MG2919>.&#8221; <A><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>But if<MG1487> our unrighteousness<MG93> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>demonstrates<MG4921> the righteousness<MG1343> of God<MG2316>, what<MG5101> shall we say<MG3004>? The God<MG2316> who inflicts<MG2018> wrath<MG3709> is not unrighteous<MG94>, is He? (I am speaking<MG3004> from<MG2596> a<MG2596> human<MG444> viewpoint<MG2596>.) <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Far<MG3361> from<MG3361> it! For <i>otherwise,</i> how<MG4459> will God<MG2316> judge<MG2919> the world<MG2889>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>But if<MG1487> through<MG1722> my lie<MG5582> the truth<MG225> of God<MG2316> abounded<MG4052> to His glory<MG1391>, why<MG5101> am I also<MG2532> still<MG2089> being judged<MG2919> as a sinner<MG268>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And <i>why</i> not <i>say</i> (just<MG2531a> as<MG2531a> we are slanderously<MG987> reported<MG987> and as some<MG5100> claim<MG5346> that we say<MG3004>), &#8220;Let&#8217;s do<MG4160> evil<MG2556> that good<MG18> may come<MG2064> <i>of it</i>&#8221;? <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>Their condemnation<MG2917> is deserved<MG1738>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>What<MG5101> then<MG3767>? <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>Are we better<MG4284> <i>than they?</i> Not at all<MG3843>; for we have already<MG4256> charged<MG4256> that both<MG5037> Jews<MG2453> and Greeks<MG1672> are all<MG3956> under<MG5259> sin<MG266>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>as it is written<MG1125>: <p class="indent1stline">&#8220;THERE IS NO<MG3756> RIGHTEOUS<MG1342> PERSON<MG1342>, NOT EVEN<MG3761> ONE<MG1520>; <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>&#8220;THEIR FEET<MG4228> ARE SWIFT<MG3691> TO SHED<MG1632a> BLOOD<MG129>, <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>DESTRUCTION<MG4938> AND MISERY<MG5004> ARE IN THEIR PATHS<MG3598>, <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>AND THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN<MG1097> THE WAY<MG3598> OF PEACE<MG1515>.&#8221; <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>&#8220;THERE IS NO<MG3756> FEAR<MG5401> OF GOD<MG2316> BEFORE<MG561> THEIR EYES<MG3788>.&#8221; <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> we know<MG3609a> that whatever<MG3745> the Law<MG3551> says<MG3004>, it speaks<MG2980> to those<MG3588> who are <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>under<MG1722> the Law<MG3551>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> every<MG3956> mouth<MG4750> may be closed<MG5420> and all<MG3956> the world<MG2889> may become<MG1096> accountable<MG5267> to God<MG2316>; for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>through<MG1223> the Law<MG3551> <i>comes</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>knowledge<MG1922> of sin<MG266>. <p class="hdg">Justification by Faith</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>But now<MG3570> apart<MG5565> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>from the Law<MG3551> <i>the</i> righteousness<MG1343> of God<MG2316> has been revealed<MG5319>, being witnessed<MG3140> by the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>Law<MG3551> and the Prophets<MG4396>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>but <i>it is the</i> righteousness<MG1343> of God<MG2316> through<MG1223> faith<MG4102> in Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547> for all<MG3956> those<MG3588> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>who believe<MG4100>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>for the demonstration<MG1732>, <i>that is,</i> of His righteousness<MG1343> at the present<MG3568> time<MG2540>, so<MG1519> that<MG1519> He would be just<MG1342> and the justifier<MG1344> of the one who <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[w]</a></span>has faith<MG4102> in Jesus<MG2424>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/3-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>Where<MG4226> then<MG3767> is boasting<MG2746a>? It has been excluded<MG1576>. By what<MG4169> kind<MG4169> of law<MG3551>? Of works<MG2041>?
