She has done a beautiful deed for me.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="spcl">For you have the poor always with you, but you do not have me always.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But she who has poured this ointment on my body has done it as for my burial.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And amen, I say to you, that wherever this my gospel will be preached in all the world, this also that she has done will be told for her memorial."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Then one of the twelve who is called Yehuda Scariota went out to the Chief Priests,</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he said to them, ''What are you willing to give me if I shall deliver him to you?', but they promised him thirty silver coins.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And from then on, he sought opportunity to betray him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But on the first day of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Yeshua and they said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare for you that you may eat the Passover?"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But he said to them, "Go to the city to a certain man and say to him, 'Our Rabbi says, 'My time is come. I will perform the Passover at your place with my disciples'."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And his disciples did just as Yeshua ordered them and they prepared the Passover.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when it was evening he reclined with his twelve Disciples.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And as they ate he said to them, "Amen, I say to you, that one of you will betray me."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And it grieved them greatly, and they began to say to him, each one of them, "Is it I, my Lord?"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But he answered and said, "Whoever dips his hand with me in the dish, he will betray me."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"And The Son of Man goes just as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom The Son of Man is betrayed; it would have been better for that man if he had not been born."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yehuda the traitor answered and he said, "It is I, Rabbi?" Yeshua said to him, "You have said."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But as they ate, Yeshua took bread and blessed and broke and he gave to his disciples, and he said, "Take eat; this is my body."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he took a cup, and he gave thanks and he gave to them, and he said, "Take, drink from it, all of you.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><span class="spcl">This is my blood of the new* covenant, which is shed in exchange for the many for the release of sins.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But I say to you that I shall not drink again from this fruit of the vine until the day in which I shall drink it with you new in the Kingdom of my Father."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they sang praises and they went out to Tor Zaytha.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yeshua said to them, "All of you will be offended at me this night, for it is written: 'I shall smite The Shepherd, and the sheep of his flock will be scattered.'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But after I am risen, I shall go before you to Galilee."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Kaypha answered and said to him, "Even if every man will be offended at you, I will never be offended at you."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua answered him and said, "Amen, I say to you that in this night, before a cock will crow three times, you will deny me."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Kaypha said to him, "If I should die with you, I would not deny you." So also all the disciples said.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Then Yeshua came with them to the place that is called Gethsemane and he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I shall go and pray."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-37.htm"><b>37</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he took Kaypha and the two sons of Zebedee, and he began to be saddened and to be disheartened.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-38.htm"><b>38</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he said to them, "My soul has sorrow even to death; wait for me here and keep watch with me."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-39.htm"><b>39</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he withdrew a little and he fell upon his face and he prayed and he said, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass by me, however not as I will, but as you will."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-40.htm"><b>40</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he came to his disciples and he found them as they slept and he said to Kaypha, "Could you not keep watch with me one hour?"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-41.htm"><b>41</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation. The Spirit is ready, but the body is weak."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-42.htm"><b>42</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Going again the second time, he prayed and he said, "My Father, if this cup cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-43.htm"><b>43</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And coming again, he found them while they slept, for their eyes were heavy.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-44.htm"><b>44</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he left them and going on again, he prayed the third time, and he said the same thing.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-45.htm"><b>45</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he came to his disciples and he said to them, "Sleep now and rest; behold the hour is come; The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-46.htm"><b>46</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"Arise, let us go; he has arrived who betrays me."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-47.htm"><b>47</b></a></span><span class="spcl">While he was speaking, behold, Yehuda the traitor, one of the twelve, came and a great crowd with him, with swords and clubs from the presence of the Chief Priests and the Elders of the people.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-48.htm"><b>48</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yehuda the traitor had given them a sign, and he had said, "Him whom I shall kiss is the one; seize him."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-49.htm"><b>49</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And at once, he called Yeshua, and he said, "Shalom, Rabbi", and he kissed him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-50.htm"><b>50</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Then Yeshua said to him, "Have you come to this my friend?" Then they came and they laid their hands on Yeshua, and they took him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-51.htm"><b>51</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And behold, one of those who were with Yeshua reached his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of The High Priest and cut off his ear.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-52.htm"><b>52</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Then Yeshua said to him, "Return the sword to its place, for all of those who take up swords will die by swords.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-53.htm"><b>53</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Do you think that I cannot ask my Father and he would raise up for me now more than twelve Legions of Angels?</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-54.htm"><b>54</b></a></span><span class="spcl">How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?"</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-55.htm"><b>55</b></a></span><span class="spcl">At that moment Yeshua said to the crowd, "Have you come out as against a robber with swords and with clubs to seize me? I was with you every day in The Temple sitting and teaching, and you did not arrest me."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-56.htm"><b>56</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But this happened that the scripture of The Prophets may be fulfilled; then all the disciples forsook him and fled.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-57.htm"><b>57</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they who arrested Yeshua led him to Qaiapha the High Priest, where the Scribes and the Elders were gathered.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-58.htm"><b>58</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But Shimeon Kaypha was going after him from a distance unto the court of The High Priest, and entering he sat down inside with the guards to see the outcome.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-59.htm"><b>59</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But the Chief Priests and the Elders and all the assembly were seeking witnesses against Yeshua, so that they might put him to death.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-60.htm"><b>60</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they did not find them, though many false witnesses had come, but finally two came forth,</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-61.htm"><b>61</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they were saying: "This one said, 'I can destroy The Temple of God and in three days I shall build it.'"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-62.htm"><b>62</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And the High Priest stood and said to him, "Do you not return an answer? What are these testifying against you?"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-63.htm"><b>63</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But Yeshua was silent, and The High Priest answered and said to him, "I adjure you by THE LIVING GOD that you tell us if you are The Messiah, The Son of God."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-64.htm"><b>64</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua said to him, "You have said; but I say to you that from this hour, you will see The Son of Man who sits at the right hand of power and comes on the clouds of Heaven."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-65.htm"><b>65</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Then the High Priest ripped his garment, and said, "Behold, he has blasphemed. Why now do we need witnesses? Behold now, you have heard his blasphemy.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-66.htm"><b>66</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"What do you think?" They answered, and they said, "He deserves death."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/26-67.htm"><b>67</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they spat in his face, and they were beating his head.
