but I will recompense you according to your ways, and your abominations shall be in your midst; and you shall know that I am the LORD.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>Thus says the LORD God: Behold, an evil is coming for every evil which you have committed. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>An end is coming, and it shall afflict you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>The dawn of destruction is come upon you, O you inhabitant of the land; the time is come, the day of trouble is near. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Now I will shortly pour out my wrath upon you, and I will pour out my anger upon you; and I will judge you according to your ways, and will recompense you for all your abominations. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And my eye shall not spare you, neither will I have pity; but I will recompense you according to your ways; and your abominations shall remain in the midst of you; and you shall know that I am the LORD who has smitten you.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Behold the day is come, the dawn is gone forth; the staff has blossomed, the shame has budded. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>Violence has grown upon the staff of the wicked; none of them shall remain, neither their disturbances nor their works; nor shall I cease from punishing them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>The time is come, the day draws near; let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller regret; for wrath is upon all their substance. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>For the buyer shall not return to the seller, for they will not be living; for catastrophe shall not spare any of their possessions; neither shall a man spare his life by means of his corruptness.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>They have blown the trumpet, and made all ready; but there is none that goes to battle; for my wrath is upon all their substance. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>The sword is in the streets, pestilence and famine in the houses; he that is in the field shall die by the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>But those of them who escape shall escape on the mountains, and they shall take refuge like doves in the crags; all of them shall die every one in his own iniquity. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>All hands shall be feeble and all knees shall be weak. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>The people shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all heads. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>They shall cast their silver into the streets, and their gold shall be despised; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bellies; because this is their torment on account of their iniquity.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And the beauty of their ornaments, which they made with excellency for the images and altars of their abominations, I have made, therefore, to be despised; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And I will give it into the hands of strangers for a prey and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And I will turn my face from them, and they shall pollute my sanctuary, and robbers shall enter into it and defile it.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And they shall attack it with bricks; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of iniquity. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>Therefore I will bring shepherds of Gentiles, and they shall possess their houses; I will also make the excellency of the mighty ones to cease; and the Gentiles shall possess their sanctuary. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>Indignation is coming; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Calamity shall come upon calamity, and rumor shall be upon rumor; then they shall seek a vision from the prophets; but the law shall perish from the priests, and counsel from the elders. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/7-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>The king shall sit in mourning and the prince shall be clothed with desolation and the hands of the people of the land shall tremble;
