It is in the last<MG2078> days<MG2250> that you have stored<MG2343> up<MG2343> your treasure<MG2343>! <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Behold<MG2400>, the pay<MG3408> of the laborers<MG2040> who mowed<MG270> your fields<MG5561>, <i>and</i> which has been withheld<MG879b> by you, cries<MG2896> out<MG2896> <i>against you;</i> and the outcry<MG995> of those<MG3588> who did<MG2325> the<MG2325> harvesting<MG2325> has reached<MG1525> the ears<MG3775> of the Lord<MG2962> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>of armies<MG4519>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>You have <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>lived<MG5171> for<MG5171> pleasure<MG5171> on the earth<MG1093> and lived<MG4684> luxuriously<MG4684>; you have <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>fattened<MG5142> your hearts<MG2588> in a day<MG2250> of slaughter<MG4967>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>You have condemned<MG2613a> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>put<MG5407> to<MG5407> death<MG5407> the righteous<MG1342> person<MG1342>; he offers<MG498> you no<MG3756> resistance<MG498>. <p class="hdg">Exhortation</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Therefore<MG3767> be<MG3114> patient<MG3114>, brothers<MG80> <i>and sisters,</i> until<MG2193> the coming<MG3952> of the Lord<MG2962>. The farmer<MG1092> waits<MG1551> for<MG1551> the precious<MG5093> produce<MG2590> of the soil<MG1093>, being<MG3114> patient<MG3114> about<MG1909> it, until<MG2193> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>it gets<MG2983> the early<MG4291a> and late<MG3797> rains. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>You too<MG2532> be<MG3114> patient<MG3114>; strengthen<MG4741> your hearts<MG2588>, for the coming<MG3952> of the Lord<MG2962> is near<MG1448>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Do not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>complain<MG4727>, brothers<MG80> <i>and sisters,</i> against<MG2596> one<MG240> another<MG240>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> you may not be judged<MG2919>; behold<MG2400>, the Judge<MG2923> is standing<MG2476> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>right<MG4253> at the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>door<MG2374>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>As an example<MG5262>, brothers<MG80> <i>and sisters,</i> of suffering<MG2552> and patience<MG3115>, take<MG2983> the prophets<MG4396> who<MG3739> spoke<MG2980> in the name<MG3686> of the Lord<MG2962>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>We count<MG3106> those<MG3588> blessed<MG3106> who endured<MG5278>. You have heard<MG191> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>endurance<MG5281> of Job<MG2492a> and have seen<MG3708> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>outcome<MG5056> of the Lord’s<MG2962> dealings, that the Lord<MG2962> is full<MG4184> of<MG4184> compassion<MG4184> and <i>is</i> merciful<MG3629>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>But above<MG4253> all<MG3956>, my brothers<MG80> <i>and sisters,</i> do not swear<MG3660>, either<MG3383> by heaven<MG3772> or<MG3383> by earth<MG1093> or<MG3383> with any<MG5100> other<MG243> oath<MG3727>; but <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>your yes<MG3483a> is to be yes<MG3483a>, and your no<MG3756>, no<MG3756>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> you do not fall<MG4098> under<MG5259> judgment<MG2920>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Is anyone<MG5100> among<MG1722> you suffering<MG2553>? <i>Then</i> he must pray<MG4336>. Is anyone<MG5100> cheerful<MG2114>? He is to sing<MG5567> praises<MG5567>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Is anyone<MG5100> among<MG1722> you sick<MG770>? <i>Then</i> he must call<MG4341> for the elders<MG4245> of the church<MG1577> and they are to pray<MG4336> over<MG1909> him, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>anointing<MG218> him with oil<MG1637> in the name<MG3686> of the Lord<MG2962>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>and the prayer<MG2171> of faith<MG4102> will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>restore<MG4982> the one who is sick<MG2577>, and the Lord<MG2962> will raise<MG1453> him up<MG1453>, and if<MG2579> he has committed<MG4160> sins<MG266>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>they will be forgiven<MG863> him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/james/5-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Therefore<MG3767>, confess<MG1843> your sins<MG266> to one<MG240> another<MG240>, and pray<MG4336> for one<MG240> another<MG240> so<MG3704> that<MG3704> you may be healed<MG2390>.
