<a href ="../mark/13.htm#28">Mark 13:28–31</a>)</span><p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>And He spake a parable to them, <FR>Behold the fig-tree,<Fr> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><FR>and all the trees, when they shoot out, ye see and know of yourselves that summer is now near:<Fr> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><FR>so likewise know ye, when ye see these things coming to pass, that the kingdom of God is at hand.<Fr> <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><FR>Verily I tell you, this generation shall not pass away till all be accomplished.<Fr> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><FR>Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.<Fr><p> <A name="35"></a><p class="hdg">Be Watchful for the Day<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><FR>Take heed to yourselves, least at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of life, and <Fr><i>so</i><FR> that day should come upon you unawares:<Fr> <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span><FR>for as a snare shall it come upon all that dwell on the face of the whole earth.<Fr> <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span><FR>Watch therefore and be constant in prayer, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these <Fr><i>things,</i><FR> which shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.<Fr><p> <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/21-37.htm"><b>37</b></a></span>Thus He was by day teaching in the temple;
