Economic theory of income inequality-innovation nexus and empirical evidence are counter intuitive. Therefore, the present study attempts to examine a comparative analysis of income inequality, innovation and human capital relationship among the 15 Asia-Pacific countries using time\u0002series data from 1990 to 2020. The study employs the Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillips-Perron unit root test methods to examine the stationarity of variables and the ARDL bounds co-integration approach to estimate the long run relationship between income inequality, innovation and human capital development. Results of the bounds co-integration test indicated that there is a long run equilibrium relationship between income inequality, innovation and human capital in both models with interaction term and without interaction term for all the 15 countries. With human capital as a mediating variable, findings of the long run ARDL model indicated that innovation variable adversely affects income inequality across countries and over time in majority of the sampled countries. This study examined the innovation-inequality connection over time and unraveled the puzzle why innovations generate income inequality in some countries but not in others. Therefore, it is suggested that there is a dire need to relook at the innovation system that should use both bottom-up and top-down approach with a right mix to have an impact on the reduction of We construct a novel dataset of patents by combining patents from USPTO and EPO to test the effect of innovation on income inequality. We demonstrate that innovation has a strong positive correlation with top income shares. Also, we find weak evidence that innovation has a negative effect on overall income inequality. We support our findings by using instrumental variables to tackle endogeneity. In addition our IV analysis shows that the effect of innovation on top income shares remains significant for 3 years. We demonstrate that innovation activities reduce personal income inequality by matching patents from the European Patent Office with their inventors. Our findings are supported by instrumental variable estimations to tackle endogeneity. The results are also robust with respect to various inequality measures, alternative quality indexes of innovation, truncation bias, the use of patent applications together with granted patents and ds2-5-body-sm">Education inequality in Indonesia tends to experience a downward trend which indicates that the education distribution is more equally distributed from year to year. this phenomenon should lead to a reduction in income inequality. However, income inequality in Indonesia has increased compared to 9 years ago. This study intends to look at the human capital inequality condition in provinces in Indonesia and analyze the effect of human capital inequality on income inequality. The Gini coefficient concept is used to measure human capital inequality and income inequality. The annual panel data covered 34 provinces in Indonesia from 2015 – 2019. The analytical methods used dynamic panel data regression using the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) Arellano-Bond approach. The results indicate income inequality with a lag of 1 year, literacy rate, and trade openness have a negative and significant effect on income inequality.
