Recent work has focused on chiral control of nano-structures by angular momentum of light. Such chiral nano-structures will potentially provide a new scientific aspect to metamaterials, plasmonics, and silicon photonics, and they might also enable us to develop nanoscale imaging systems with chiral selectivity. He has already published >100 refereed journal articles, and he has performed >20 invited presentations of major international conferences, including CLEO, CLEO Pacific-Rim, CLEO Europe, LEOS, and ICALEO meetings. He has been appointed as an Associate Editor of Optics Express during 2006-2012. He is also on the editorial board of Applied Physics Express. He is currently working as a steering committee member of the conference on the laser and optoelectronics pacific-rim (CLEO Pacific-rim). Since January 2015, he has been serving as an associate professor at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences of Wuhan University (China), focusing on the interdisciplinary research of solution-processed organic optoelectronic materials and devices. Dr. Xie has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications with an H-index of 45 and contributed to three edited book chapters on organic optoelectronics. In 2020, Dr. Xie has been admitted as a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. Currently, Dr. Xie is a guest editor respectively for “Frontiers in Chemistryâ€, “Molecules†and “International Journal of Molecular Sciencesâ€. Meanwhile, he also serves as a member of Youth Editorial Board respectively for “Chinese Journal of Luminescenceâ€, “SmartMat†and “The Innovationâ€.</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-sm-3"> <div class="speaker"> <div class="photo-wrapper rounded"><img src="https://primemeetings.org/cms/photos/426-invited-Photo.PNG" style="width: 200px; height: 200px" alt="Dr. Kyung Min Lee " class="img-responsive"></div> <h3 class="name">Dr. Kyung Min Lee </h3> <div class="about1">US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)</br> USA</div> <div class="btns-block"> <a class="btn btn-rounded btn-black btn-sm" href="#" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#bio_invited426"><i class="fa fa-tag"></i>Biography</a> </div> <div class="modal fade" id="bio_invited426" role="dialog"> <div class="modal-dialog"> <!-- Modal content--> <div class="modal-content"> <div class="modal-header"> <button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal">×</button> <h4 style="color: #000" class="modal-title">Biography</h4> </div> <div class="modal-body"> <p align="justify"> Dr. Kyung Min Lee currently works at the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) as a staff scientist through the Azimuth Corporation. After his doctorate, he moved to the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetic Research in Cambridge as a postdoc to study mechanisms underlying electrical properties of different anion and cation channels involved in regulatory volume decrease. This research using patch-clamp electrophysiology and molecular biology techniques led to the functional association between volume-activated chloride channels and multidrug resistance P-glycoprotein (MDR). For these studies, in 1994 he was promoted to Senior Scientific Officer for the Cancer Research Campaign in Oxford. Back in Spain in 1994, he established the Laboratory of Membrane Physiology and Biophysics at the University of La Laguna in Spain. Since then, his group has studied different ion conductances, electrolyte and nutrient transporters, plasmalemmal ATPases and membrane receptors for neurotransmitters and hormones, including unexpected plasma membrane steroid receptors. One main interest of his laboratory are the (patho-)physiological roles and signaling mechanisms initiated by estrogens at the plasma membrane, including intracellular calcium imaging, which have been associated with neuroprotection. In January 2010, he became a full professor of Physiology and Biophysics. Nowadays he is active member of the editorial board of more than ten international journal devoted to basic and applied physiology research. In the period 2010-2019 he was the Specialty Chief Editor (SCE) of Frontiers in Membrane Physiology and Membrane Biophysics. In 2021 he was appointed to the board of the Instituto Universitario de Neurociencia (IUNE) from Universidad de La Laguna (Spain). During the last two decades, his laboratory has focused on two main research areas: 1) the study of cell membrane physicochemistry, particularly in lipid rafts microdomains from nerve cells, and their relation to membrane biophysics, membrane protein dynamics, and lipid-protein interactions, with emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases, and 2) On the development, synthesis, pharmacological assessment, and cellular imaging of novel fluorescent derivatives of membrane permeable and impermeable SERMs (Selective estrogen receptor modulators). Some of these compounds, such FLTX1, which are endowed with pure antiestrogenic activity and emerging laser dye properties, have been characterized for their ability to behave as gain media for spontaneous amplified laser emission (ASE), and random laser (RL) properties in vitro biological tissues of pathological interest (i.e. hormone-dependent cancers).</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-sm-3"> <div class="speaker"> <div class="photo-wrapper rounded"><img src="https://primemeetings.org/cms/photos/403-invited-Photo.PNG" style="width: 200px; height: 200px" alt="Prof. Naveen Nishchal " class="img-responsive"></div> <h3 class="name">Prof. Naveen Nishchal </h3> <div class="about1"> Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India </div> <div class="btns-block"> <a class="btn btn-rounded btn-black btn-sm" href="#" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#bio_invited403"><i class="fa fa-tag"></i>Biography</a> </div> <div class="modal fade" id="bio_invited403" role="dialog"> <div class="modal-dialog"> <!-- Modal content--> <div class="modal-content"> <div class="modal-header"> <button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal">×</button> <h4 style="color: #000" class="modal-title">Biography</h4> </div> <div class="modal-body"> <p align="justify"> Prof. Naveen Nishchal has been a faculty member in the department of physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna since 2008.
