Montana Department of Revenue">Blaine Amendment</a>.<sup id="cite_ref-petition_20-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-petition-20">[20]</a></sup> </p><p>In its 5-4 opinion, the court held that the application of <a href="/Espinoza_v._Montana_Department_of_Revenue#Blaine_Amendment_in_the_Montana_Constitution" title="Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue">Article X, Section 6</a> violated the <a href="#Free_Exercise_Clause">free exercise clause</a> of the U.S. Constitution.
