The station itself is in a commercial district on Florida Avenue.<sup id="cite_ref-StationGuide_18-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-StationGuide-18"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>18<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Its design differs from that of previous stations and is indicative of the lessons learned by Metro over its years of operation in several respects.
