<span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-6.htm#literal"><b>6</b></a></span>However he said this, not because he was caring for the poor (beggarly), but because he was a thief, and having the moneybag (glossokomon- root words glossa and komizo- to carry tongues), he carried (pilfered?) that being placed (thrown) into it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-7.htm#literal"><b>7</b></a></span>Then Jesus said, Leave her alone (Remit her): so that she might keep it unto the day of My burial: <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-8.htm#literal"><b>8</b></a></span>for you always have the poor (beggarly, destitute) with you; however you do not always have Me.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-9.htm#literal"><b>9</b></a></span>A great (much) crowd therefore of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came not only because of Jesus, but so that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from out of the dead. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-10.htm#literal"><b>10</b></a></span>However the chief priests took counsel (determined, deliberated), so that they might also kill Lazarus, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-11.htm#literal"><b>11</b></a></span>Because many of the Jews were going away on account of him and were believing unto Jesus.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-12.htm#literal"><b>12</b></a></span>On the next day, a great crowd having come unto the feast, having heard that Jesus is coming into Jerusalem, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-13.htm#literal"><b>13</b></a></span>Took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him and were shouting, Hosanna! (Hosanna in Greek, Latin-Osanna, Oh, save now! or Please save!, from Hebrew- yasha & na- save & please/now/pray) Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord, even the King (latin-Rex) of Israel! <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-14.htm#literal"><b>14</b></a></span>And Jesus having found a young (little) donkey, sat upon it, just as it is written, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-15.htm#literal"><b>15</b></a></span>Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, Your King comes, sitting upon a colt (foal) of a donkey. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-16.htm#literal"><b>16</b></a></span>His disciples did not understand these things from the first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of (upon) Him, and that they had done these things to Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-17.htm#literal"><b>17</b></a></span>The crowd being with Him when He called Lazarus from out of the tomb and raised him from out of the dead therefore bore witness. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-18.htm#literal"><b>18</b></a></span>On account of this also, the crowd met Him because they heard of His having done this sign. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-19.htm#literal"><b>19</b></a></span>The Pharisees therefore said to themselves, Do you see that you gain nothing? Behold, the world has gone after Him.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-20.htm#literal"><b>20</b></a></span>And there were Greeks from out of those coming up so that they might worship in the feast; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-21.htm#literal"><b>21</b></a></span>These therefore came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and they asked him saying, Sir (Lord), we want to see Jesus. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-22.htm#literal"><b>22</b></a></span>Philip comes and tells Andrew; Andrew and Philip come and tell Jesus. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-23.htm#literal"><b>23</b></a></span>And Jesus answered them saying, The hour has come so that the Son of Man should be glorified. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-24.htm#literal"><b>24</b></a></span>Truly, truly I say to you, Except the grain of wheat having fallen into the ground should die, it remains alone; however if it should die, it bears much fruit. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-25.htm#literal"><b>25</b></a></span>The one loving (philon) his life (soul) loses it, and the one hating (detesting) his life (soul) in this world will keep (guard) it unto life eternal. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-26.htm#literal"><b>26</b></a></span>If anyone serves (diakone, ministers) Me, let him follow Me; and where I am there also My servant (minister, diakonos) will be. If anyone serves (ministers) Me, the Father will honor (value) him.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-27.htm#literal"><b>27</b></a></span>Now (presently) My soul (life) has been troubled (agitated) and what shall I say? Father, save Me from out of this hour. But on account of this I came unto this hour. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-28.htm#literal"><b>28</b></a></span>Father, glorify Your name. Then a voice came from out of heaven, I have glorified it, and will glorify it again. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-29.htm#literal"><b>29</b></a></span>Therefore the crowd having stood and having heard said, There has been thunder. Others said, An angel has spoken to Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-30.htm#literal"><b>30</b></a></span>Jesus answered and said, Not because of Me has this voice come, but because of you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-31.htm#literal"><b>31</b></a></span>Now (at present) is the judgment of this world; now (at present) the ruler (archon-preeminent ruler, latin-princeps-leader like principal leader) of this world will be cast outside. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-32.htm#literal"><b>32</b></a></span>And I, if I am lifted up (raised up) high from out of the earth, all will draw to Myself. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-33.htm#literal"><b>33</b></a></span>And this He said, signifying by what death He was about to die. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-34.htm#literal"><b>34</b></a></span>The crowd then answered Him, We have heard from out of the law that the Christ abides unto the age, and how do You say that it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-35.htm#literal"><b>35</b></a></span>Jesus therefore said to them, Yet a little while, the Light is among (in) you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness might not overtake (make you its own, take hold of) you. And the one walking in the darkness, does not know where he is going. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-36.htm#literal"><b>36</b></a></span>While you have the Light, believe unto the Light, so that you might become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things and having gone away, was hidden from them.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-37.htm#literal"><b>37</b></a></span>However so many signs having been done of Him before them, they did not believe unto Him, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-38.htm#literal"><b>38</b></a></span>So that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled that said, Lord, who has believed our report (hearing)? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-39.htm#literal"><b>39</b></a></span>Therefore they were not able to believe because Isaiah said again, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-40.htm#literal"><b>40</b></a></span>He has blinded their eyes and has hardened their heart, so that they should not see with the eyes and understand (perceive, latin-intellegant-understand) with the heart, and turn (change direction, convert), and I will heal (iasomai) them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-41.htm#literal"><b>41</b></a></span>Isaiah said these things because he saw His glory and spoke concerning Him.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-42.htm#literal"><b>42</b></a></span>Although indeed even from out of the rulers many believed unto Him, but on account of the Pharisees they did not confess, so that they might not be put out of the synagogue; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-43.htm#literal"><b>43</b></a></span>For they loved the glory of men more (rather) than the glory of God.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-44.htm#literal"><b>44</b></a></span>And Jesus cried out and said, The one believing unto Me, does not believe unto Me, but unto the One having sent Me; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-45.htm#literal"><b>45</b></a></span>And the one beholding Me, beholds the One having sent Me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-46.htm#literal"><b>46</b></a></span>I have come as a Light into the world, so that everyone believing unto Me might not abide (remain) in the darkness. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-47.htm#literal"><b>47</b></a></span>And if anyone hears the sayings (rhematon) of Me, and does not keep [them], I do not judge him, for I did not come so that I might judge the world, but so that I might save the world. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-48.htm#literal"><b>48</b></a></span>The one rejecting (disregarding, un-placing, annulling) Me and not receiving My sayings (rhemata) has one judging him: the word (logos) that I spoke, that there will judge him in the last day. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-49.htm#literal"><b>49</b></a></span>Because I did not speak from Myself, but the Father Himself having sent Me gave Me a commandment- what I should say and what I should speak. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/12-50.htm#literal"><b>50</b></a></span>And I know that His commandment is life eternal.
