אוּשְׁפִּיזִין קַדִּישִׁין.</h3> </blockquote> <p></p> <p>אחד ממנהגי החג הרבים בסוכות הוא הזמנת אורחים לסוכה. מלבד האורחים הממשיים אנחנו מזמינים גם אורחים רוחניים – האושפיזין. האושפיזין הם שבעת אבותינו הקדמונים הבאים לבקרנו בכל אחד מימי החג. בימינו אנחנו מוזמנות להוסיף לצד האושפיזין הגברים גם אושפיזות. לפי אחת ההצעות, מונה רשימת האושפיזות את שרה, מרים, דבורה, אביגיל, חנה, חולדה ואסתר.</p> ישראל, שכשנכנסים לסוכה וקודם שיושבים לשלחן, מזמינים את האושפיזין דרך כבוד, ואומרים: 'עולו אושפיזין', 'אזמן לסעודתי אושפיזין עלאין (אורחים נעלים). בבקשה ממך – וקורא בשם אורחי היום, ומונה את שמות כל שאר ששה האושפיזין הבאים עם אורח היום. ומכינים כסא נאה בסוכה ופורסים עליו מפה יפה ומניחים עליו ספרים ואומרים: 'זה כסא של אושפיזין'. וכן מדליקים נר לכבוד האושפיזין. כיון שסוכת החג היא אכסניה לאושפיזי מעלה
