Jones recalls that during a time of brutal budget cuts, his team played Corporate Survival Bingo, marking off overused, and hated, phrases like “Do more with less” and “We’re a family here.” Said Jones “It didn’t change reality, but it gave us a way to cope, and meetings became slightly less soul-draining.”</p> <p>Similarly, Kelpsiene found humor in a challenging recruitment situation. “Once, an engineer ghosted me just a few minutes before an interview and even changed his actual email to missbeliever@gmail.com,” she said. “That was tough, but at the same time, we all had a laugh at how creative this was.”</p> <p>Employers who embrace smart humor often discover it strengthens their culture beyond mere entertainment value. As Lamb observes, “Companies that value comedy also promote balance, the kind of equilibrium that makes employees feel heard, involved and supported.
