Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and he born?" <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Jesus answered, <FR>"Verily, verily, I say to you, unless one be born of water and of <i>the</i> Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.<Fr> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><FR>That which has been born of the flesh is flesh: and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit.<Fr> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span><FR>Marvel not that I said to you, ye must be born anew.<Fr> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span><FR>The Spirit breatheth where He willeth; and you hear His voice, but know not whence He cometh, or whither He goeth: so is every one who has been born of the Spirit."<Fr><p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Nicodemus answered, and said to Him, "How can these things be?" <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Jesus answered, and said to him, <FR>"Are you a teacher of Israel, and understand not these things?<Fr> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><FR>Verily, verily, I say to you, We speak that which We know, and testify to that which We have seen; and ye receive not Our testimony.<Fr> <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span><FR>If I told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe, if I tell you Heavenly things?<Fr> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span><FR>And no one has ascended into Heaven, but He Who descended out of Heaven?the Son of Man [Who is in Heaven].<Fr> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><FR>And, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;<Fr> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span><FR>that every one who believes in Him may have eternal life.<Fr><p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><FR>For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life;<Fr> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><FR>for God sent not His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world may be saved through Him.<Fr> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><FR>He that believes on Him is not judged; he that believes not has been judged already, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.<Fr> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><FR>And this is the judgment, that the Light hath come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their works were evil.<Fr> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span><FR>For every one that practices evil hates the Light, and comes not to the Light, lest his works should be reproved;<Fr> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><FR>but he that does the truth comes to the Light, that his works may be made manifest, that they have been wrought in God."<Fr><p> <A name="23"></a><p class="hdg">John’s Testimony about Jesus<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>After these things came Jesus and His disciples into the land of Judaea; and there He was tarrying with them, and immersing. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>And John also was immersing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there; and they were coming and being immersed. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>For John had not yet been cast into prison.<p> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>There arose, therefore, a question, on the part of John's disciples with a Jew, about purification. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>And they came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, He Who was with you beyond the Jordan, to Whom you have borne testimony, behold, He is immersing, and all are coming to Him." <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given to him from Heaven. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said, 'I am not the Christ, but that I have been sent before Him.' <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bride-groom who stands and hears him greatly rejoices because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy, therefore, has been made full. <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>He must increase, but I must decrease.<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>He That cometh from above is above all; he that is of the earth is of the earth, and speaks of the earth; He that cometh from Heaven is above all. <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>What He hath seen, and <i>what</i> He heard, of this He bears testimony; and no man receives His testimony. <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>He that received His testimony did set his seal to <i>it</i>, that God is true. <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span>For He Whom God sent speaketh the words of God; for He giveth not the Spirit by measure. <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span>The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into His hand. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/3-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span>He that believes on the Son has eternal life;
