Following simple random sampling technique, a total of 384 households were sampled from Rangamati Sadar Upazila of Bangladesh and were interviewed through a predesigned semistructured questionnaire. The findings of the study reveal that a substantial number of respondents (61 %) perceive that climate is changing moderately over the years. The bivariate results indicate that age, gender, education, occupation, income, amount of land, and access to mass media are significantly associated with perception on climate change as well as climatic hazards. In addition, age, education, and exposure to mass media are also found as significant predictors of climate change perception. Data were collected through a semi-structure questionnaire. This was supplemented by focus group discussions and key informant interviews. Out of 150 respondents, about 87% reported that the heat intensity has increased significantly during summer over the last twenty years. This figure for the respondents who mentioned that winter has become shorter with frequent and severe cold wave accounted for almost 83%. Again, a large number of the participants (73%) said that there is decrease in rainfall in rainy season as well as throughout the year. When it comes to the negative implications of climate change on ecosystems, agriculture and health, most of the respondents had conspicuous understanding in this connection. The respondents also believed that particular group of people including children, elderly, chronically ill people and women are most vulnerable to climate change and extreme climate variability. This study selected two indigenous communities living in Law-achara Punji (Khasia community, 18 households) and in Dolubari/Dulahazra (Tripura community, 60 households). This study used purposive sampling and collected information through a survey questionnaire as well as in-depth interviews. Findings show some differences between the two indigenous communities in terms of their beliefs about the causes and impacts of climate change, as well their perceptions, techniques, and knowledge as indigenous people in terms of managing their forest resources and coping with the effects of climate change. Tripura respondents believe that climate change has had adverse impacts on humans and that human activities are responsible for climate change, while Khasia respondents hold different beliefs in these respects. Khasia respondents emphasize government responsibility, raising public awareness, and the various roles people need to perform to mitigate the effects of climate change. Findings from this kind of study can provide a deeper understanding of people's views of the causes and impacts of climate change and related dimensions, including forest resource management and coping strategies in terms of indigenous beliefs and practices. In Bangladesh there have a few research has been conducted on public perceptions about the impact of climate change on human health. A structured questionnaire method was conducted, and data collected from 615 respondents. The findings of this study reveal that out of 615 respondents, 76.0% of the respondents replied positively while remaining 24.0%, almost one-fourth of total respondents, indicated that they have not heard the term climate change before. Knowledgeable in climate change, 92.5% of respondents agreed that climate change has an impact on human health while only 7.5% respondents disagreed with this statement. 90.5% of respondents argued that they are agreed with the opinion that climate change is a serious threat to human health. This study will contribute informatively to the scant information on the impacts of climate change affecting human health in Bangladesh. Theoretically, the study will also contribute to the previous literature on the public perceptions of climate change impacts on human health. Furthermore, the results of the study will be very useful for climate change policy makers, especially Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) for the making related policies and mechanisms in order to overcome with current human health impacts in Bangladesh. Methods: A quantitative cross - sectional study was conducted among 71 participants who were selected using snowballing method. Self-administered questionnaire was used to assess the outcome. The chi-square test was used to find association between categorical variables. Analysis to test for differences among education level was carried out using the Kruskal-Wallis analysis. Results: Regarding understanding the definition of climate change, more respondents gave incorrect answers (56%) where as 75% gave correct answer on food security. It supposed to impact all nations and states across borders. But the way it is perceived by different stakeholders varies. Perception towards climate change matters because it will shape the way knowledge is framed and risk is calculated. It is also important to examine the knowledge of those people who are affected the most due to climate change. The present paper tries to understand the perception of farmers on climate change. As agriculture is one of the most climate sensitive sectors, it becomes pertinent here to explore are the farmers aware about climatic changes or not. The study has taken two different communities, i.e. tribal and coastal community and tries to find the difference in their perception.
