class="generic-paragraph__text"><p>The X-ray crystallography core laboratory is part of the Yale School of Medicine and is available for use by individuals at the medical school trained in X-ray crystallography. The Director of the laboratory is Dr. Ya Ha, and the laboratory is overseen by the Associate Director, Dr. James W. Murphy.</p> <p>The laboratory was designed to allow and encourage both experienced and novice crystallographers to complete a crystallographic structural biology project from start to finish. Using our equipment a researcher is able to proceed from a sample of purified target protein of interest through crystallization set up, advanced imaging, data collection and determining three-dimensional atomic level structures.</p> <p>The X-ray crystallography core laboratory provides the equipment, training, assistance, and technological innovations necessary for determination of structures of proteins and other macromolecules. The laboratory is dedicated to X-ray diffraction and crystallographic studies and utilizes state of the art technology including robotic liquid handling, robotic imaging and X-ray detectors.</p> <p>Researchers from Yale School of Medicine and the entire Yale community are welcome to utilize our resources. We also greatly encourage other academic institutions and private research establishments to conduct their research in the laboratory. Arrangements for individuals to visit and use our resources or send crystallographic related samples are done regularly. Potential users should contact the laboratory to discuss their individual projects. Consultations or collaborations on macromolecular crystallization, X-ray characterization of crystals, processing and quality analysis of data, structure determination, molecular modeling, molecular docking and structure visualization and analysis are also available. The laboratory is dedicated to X-ray diffraction and crystallographic studies and utilizes state of the art technology including robotic liquid handling, robotic imaging and X-ray detectors.</p>\r\n<p>Researchers from Yale School of Medicine and the entire Yale community are welcome to utilize our resources. We also greatly encourage other academic institutions and private research establishments to conduct their research in the laboratory. Arrangements for individuals to visit and use our resources or send crystallographic related samples are done regularly. Potential users should contact the laboratory to discuss their individual projects. Consultations or collaborations on macromolecular crystallization, X-ray characterization of crystals, processing and quality analysis of data, structure determination, molecular modeling, molecular docking and structure visualization and analysis are also available.
