In the new movie, however, Pike is played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0339304/">Bruce Greenwood</a>, an actor who is 24 years older than <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1517976/">Chris Pine</a>, who plays Kirk. So I thought that Greenwood's Pike was not the same Pike as Hunter's; I thought he was a new Pike Sr. character who could serve as a father figure to Kirk. But since <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0394904/">The Menagerie</a> footage was supposed to take place 13 years before Spock's trial, that would widen the age difference, making Greenwood's older "father figure" Pike compatible with the tv series.<br /><br />But why Spock didn't look 13 years younger in the same trial footage still eludes me. Must be some Vulcan thing.<br /><br /><img style="visibility: hidden; width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.11NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNDE5MjY3MDY1NTkmcHQ9MTI*MTkyNjcwODU5MSZwPTM5NDE4MSZkPSUyZnZpZXdpbWFnZSUyZjUwMjA5NiZnPTEmdD*mb2Y9MA==.gif" border="0" width="0" height="0" /><div><a href="http://www.listal.com/viewimage/502096"><img style="width: 479px; height: 353px;" src="http://img2.listal.com/image/502096/600full-jeffrey-hunter.jpg" alt="Jeffrey Hunter" title="Jeffrey Hunter" /></a></div><br /><a href="http://www.listal.com/viewimage/502096">Picture of Jeffrey Hunter</a> at <a href="http://www.listal.com/">Listal</a><br /><br /><img style="visibility: hidden; width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.11NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNDE5MjU1OTIzNDEmcHQ9MTI*MTkyNTU5NjUyOCZwPTM5NDE4MSZkPSUyZnZpZXdpbWFnZSUyZjYwOTI3OCZnPTEmdD*mb2Y9MA==.gif" border="0" width="0" height="0" /><div><a href="http://www.listal.com/viewimage/609278"><img src="http://img2.listal.com/image/609278/600full-star-trek-photo.jpg" alt="Star Trek" title="Star Trek" /></a></div><br /><a href="http://www.listal.com/viewimage/609278">Picture of Bruce Greenwood</a> at <a href="http://www.listal.com/">Listal</a><div style="clear:both; padding-bottom:0.25em"></div><br /> <div class="byline">posted by <a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/2009/05/star-trek-pikes-age.html" title="permanent link">chuck.kahn&nbsp;&nbsp;# 11:40 PM</a>&nbsp;<a href="https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=7099767&postID=7651726507879797295"location.href=https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=7099767&postID=7651726507879797295;>0 comments</a> <span class="item-control blog-admin pid-164302174"><a style="border:none;" href="http://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=7099767&postID=7651726507879797295" title="Edit Post"><img class="icon-action" alt="" src="http://www.blogger.com:80/img/icon18_edit_allbkg.gif" height="18" width="18"></a></span> </div> </div> <!-- Archive Links --> <h2 id="archives">Archives</h2> <p> <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2004_05_01_sources_archive.html">May 2004</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2004_06_01_sources_archive.html">June 2004</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2004_07_01_sources_archive.html">July 2004</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2004_08_01_sources_archive.html">August 2004</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2004_09_01_sources_archive.html">September 2004</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2004_12_01_sources_archive.html">December 2004</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2005_04_01_sources_archive.html">April 2005</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2005_05_01_sources_archive.html">May 2005</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2008_05_01_sources_archive.html">May 2008</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2008_12_01_sources_archive.html">December 2008</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2009_02_01_sources_archive.html">February 2009</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <LI><a href="http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/archive/2009_05_01_sources_archive.html">May 2009</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <script type="text/javascript" language="Javascript">if (location.href.indexOf("archive")!=-1) document.write("<strong><a href=\"http://www.worldwideboxoffice.com/source.html\">Current Posts</a></strong>");</script></p> <!-- In accordance to the Blogger terms of service, please leave this button somewhere on your blogger-powered page.
