O holy Father, protect them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>While I was with them in the world, I protected them in your name; those you gave me I protected, and not one of them is lost, except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Now I am coming to you; and these things I speak while I am in the world, that my joy may be complete in them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>I have given them your word; and the world hated them, because they were not of the world, just as I am not of the world. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>What I request is not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should protect them from evil. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>O Father, sanctify them in your truth, because your word is truth. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>Just as you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And for their sakes, I am sanctifying myself, so that they also may be sanctified in the truth.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>I am not making request for these alone, but also for the sake of those who believe in me through their word. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>So that they all may be one; just as you, my Father, art with me, and I am with you, that they also may be one with us; so that the world may believe you sent me.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And the glory which you gave me, I gave to them; so that they may be one just as we are one. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>I with them and you with me, that they may become perfected in one; so that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them just as you loved me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>O Father, I wish that those whom you have given me, may also be with me where I am; so that they may see my glory which you have given me; for you have loved me before the foundation of the world.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>O my righteous Father, the world did not know you, but I have known you; and these have known that you have sent me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/17-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And I have made your name known to them, and I am still making it known; so that the love with which you loved me may be among them, and I be with them.<p><br /></div></div><div id="botbox"><div class="padbot"><div align="center">Holy Bible From The Ancient Eastern Texts: Aramaic Of The Peshitta by George M.
