It will be presented by Professor Shrinivas R Kulkarni, the 2024 Shaw Laureate in Astronomy. His exceptional contributions include the conception, construction and leadership of the Palomar Transient Factory and the Zwicky Transient Facility. These facilities have revolutionised our understanding of the time-variable optical sky.</p> <p><strong>About the Lecture</strong><br /> During the lecture, Professor Kulkarni will share his story with the stars, discussing his research motivations, as well as the joys and challenges he has faced. Using the digital sky projection system in the Space Theatre, the presentation will also simulate the variable and transient astronomical objects that hold special significance for him.
