Expect to receive your order within about 2-3 weeks (1 week if Minifree isn’t very busy at this given time, for example March/April and June/July are usually quieter periods).</p> <div class="h"><h2 id="us-trade-tariffs">US trade tariffs</h2><a aria-hidden="true" href="#us-trade-tariffs">[link]</a></div> <p>Since 2 April 2025, the USA has started to impose hefty tariffs on imports of goods from all other countries.</p> <p>The general tariff applied to UK imports is currently 10% (10 percent), and Minifree exports from the UK. It’s early days as yet, but it’s likely that it will be applied simply by the courier charging you during transit.</p> <p>US customers need not worry. Simply place your order as usual, and Minifree will ship your product once payment is received.</p> <p>If there is a tax to pay, the courier will usually just contact you, requesting payment. For example if you spent 500 dollars, they’d request the payment of 50 dollars (10% tariff), plus they usually charge a filing fee (e.g. 25 dollars) if they’re filing the paperwork for you.</p> <p>That’s how it works when Minifree sends to the EU for example (courier contacts the receiver to request payment of import VAT). Tariffs are no different. It’s early days as yet, but Minifree has already shipped laptops to USA since the tariffs were imposed, without issue.</p> <p>The tariffs for importing from the UK are very low (10 percent). Minifree also imports from the USA occasionally, and it works this way too.</p> <p>Please also read the <a href="warranty.html">warranty</a> page, which also has outline information about import procedures.</p> <div class="h"><h2 id="regarding-the-european-union">Regarding the European Union</h2><a aria-hidden="true" href="#regarding-the-european-union">[link]</a></div> <p>Minifree regularly ships to the EU without issue, from its lab in the UK. The couriers handle the paperwork and pay the tax (VAT) on your behalf, and then they simply contact you to request payment of VAT plus a small filing fee (usually about 20 euros). Minifree Ltd is VAT registered, and has an EORI registration number, so shipments to the EU go smoothly.</p> <p>For the most part, this process is completely automated.
