Then Simon Peter perceiving that it was the Lord, girded on his coat, (for he was stript,) and threw himself into the sea; <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>and the other disciples came in the boat dragging the net of fishes; for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits.<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And as soon as they were come to land, they saw a fire laid, and fish upon <i>it,</i> and bread. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><i>And</i> Jesus saith unto them, <FR>Bring <Fr><i>some</i><FR> of the fish, which ye have now caught.<Fr> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><i>Then</i> Simon Peter went aboard, and drew the net to land, full of large fishes, an hundred fifty-three: and though there were so many, the net was not broken.<p> <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Jesus saith unto them, <FR>Come, <Fr><i>and</i><FR> dine.<Fr> And none of the disciples presumed to ask Him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Jesus therefore cometh and taketh bread, and giveth <i>it</i> to them, and fish likewise. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>This was the third time that Jesus shewed Himself to <i>a number of</i> his disciples, after He was risen from the dead.<p> <A name="16"></a><p class="hdg">Jesus and Peter<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Now when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, <FR>Simon <Fr><i>son</i><FR> of Jonas, dost thou love me more than these?<Fr> He saith unto Him, Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee. He saith unto him, <FR>Feed my lambs.<Fr> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>He saith to him again the second time, <FR>Simon <Fr><i>son</i><FR> of Jonas, dost thou love me?<Fr> He saith unto Him, Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>He saith unto him, <FR>Feed my sheep.<Fr> He saith unto him the third time, <FR>Simon <Fr><i>son</i><FR> of Jonas, dost thou love me?<Fr> Peter was grieved, that He said to him the third time, <FR>Dost thou love me?<Fr> And he said unto Him, Lord, Thou knowest all things, Thou knowest that I love Thee. Jesus saith unto him, <FR>Feed my sheep.<Fr><p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><FR>Verily, verily I say unto thee, When thou wast younger, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst about where thou wouldest: but when thou art old, thou shalt stretch out thine hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee where thou wouldest not.<Fr> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>This He said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had said this, He saith unto him, <FR>Follow me.<Fr><p> <A name="21"></a><p class="hdg">Jesus and the Beloved Disciple<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And Peter turning about seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved, (and who leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that will betray Thee?) following <i>them;</i> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><i>and upon</i> seeing him, Peter saith to Jesus, Lord, what <i>shall</i> this <i>man do?</i> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/21-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Jesus saith unto him, <FR>If I will that he stay till I come, what <Fr><i>is it</i><FR> to thee?
