La première tient de l’histoire qui traverse ces différentes graphies, et plus particulièrement celle de l’ajami, qui est une réappropriation culturelle et identitaire initiée dans certains pays de l’Afrique noire. Le terme ajami désigne en effet des documents utilisant le système graphique arabe pour transcrire des langues et des textes qui ne sont pas arabes, en particulier les langues africaines. La deuxième perspective tient des apports des outils techniques et numériques appliqués à ce type de manuscrits et d’écriture. </p> </div> </div> <div id="annonce"> <p class="intitule">Annonce</p> <div id="annonce-1205860-fr" class="tabContent" lang="fr" xml:lang="fr"> <h1><span lang="EN-US">Argumentaire</span></h1> <p class="MsoBodyText" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">À la suite de l’appel à contribution sur “les savoirs endogènes en question” et dans la lignée du colloque CoSICA24 portant sur les “Sciences et métiers de l’Information et de la Communication à l’épreuve de l’Intelligence artificielle”, le laboratoire de recherche en sciences de l’information et de la communication (LARSIC) de l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar, à travers sa revue le RSSI (Revue sénégalaise des sciences de l’information), porte une attention particulière au traitement numérique et à la valorisation des manuscrits arabes et <em>ajami</em>. Les défis techniques que ces traitements induisent, les enjeux patrimoniaux qui y sont rattachés, mais aussi les perspectives de recherche et de valorisation ouvertes en direction du grand public, constituent autant d’éléments de réflexion sur lesquels nous souhaitons porter une attention particulière. Ce patrimoine culturel et archivistique revêt une importance vitale dans la préservation des identités et de la mémoire puisque les questions littéraires, sociétales, scientifiques et religieuses traitées dans les textes témoignent de l’histoire, de la culture et des activités des sociétés africaines et maghrébines. Il constitue en ce sens un facteur important du maintien de la diversité culturelle (Salemink et al., 2021) et participe dès lors à l’enrichissement de la mémoire collective. Selon Wiesner, il existe « un parallélisme entre le développement des civilisations, en particulier dans le domaine technique, et l’extension de l’écriture. [Cette dernière] apparaît de ce fait, comme un parfait outil psychologique, du médiateur inventé par l’humanité » (Wisner, 1997: 239). Les travaux actuels en Sciences humaines - dont les méthodologies de recherche et d’analyse sont enrichies par des modèles de traitement numérique - concourent à une extension de l’écriture scientifique et des domaines de recherche afférents. Nous proposons, dans le cadre de cet appel, d’explorer tant les potentialités que les défis associés à l’utilisation des outils numériques dans l’analyse de ces manuscrits.</span></p> <p class="MsoBodyText" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">Cette proposition met en jeu deux perspectives. La première tient de l’histoire qui traverse ces différentes graphies, et plus particulièrement celle de l’<em>ajami</em>, qui est une réappropriation culturelle et identitaire initiée dans certains pays de l’Afrique noire. Le terme <em>ajami </em>désigne en effet des documents utilisant le système graphique arabe pour transcrire des langues et des textes qui ne sont pas arabes, en particulier les langues africaines. La deuxième perspective tient des apports des outils techniques et numériques appliqués à ce type de manuscrit et d’écriture. Il s’agit d’explorer les possibilités offertes par les outils techniques et par l’IA en matière de traitement, de correspondance linguistique, de restauration des manuscrits, d’édition critique numérique, de codicologie, de traduction et de transcription assistée, d’analyse linguistique et sémantique et d’indexation automatique. L’IA est bien entendu reconnue aujourd’hui comme outil facilitateur de traitement et de recherche de l’information à l’instar des pratiques d’indexation et de catalogage des documents. Quelles sont les initiatives en la matière, dans le domaine des manuscrits arabes et <em>ajami</em>? Par ailleurs, l’intégration de ces outils dans la gestion du patrimoine culturel semble, à certains égards, bouleverser les pratiques traditionnelles et soulever des questions sur la patrimonialisation, la sacralisation et la désacralisation des objets culturels - à l’exemple de certains manuscrits considérés comme des objets cultuels.</span></p> <p class="MsoBodyText" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">Aussi, les outils numériques et l’IA peuvent-ils permettre de reconsidérer les pratiques traditionnelles de préservation et d’étude des manuscrits? Ces outils modulent- ils, par les traitements qu’ils induisent, les valeurs patrimoniales et culturelles des manuscrits? Les initiatives de traitement et de valorisation de ces manuscrits pourraient- elles favoriser la collaboration des équipes de recherche avec les détenteurs des manuscrits et les producteurs des sources archivistiques? Quels outils pourraient être développés pour préserver l’intégrité physique des manuscrits? Quelle approche éthique les chercheurs et praticiens adoptent-ils pour intégrer de manière globale les valeurs culturelles et historiques des manuscrits? Comment rendre l’IA sensible aux contextes culturels et historiques pour éviter des effets de standardisation ou de décontextualisation du patrimoine sacré? Comment impliquer les communautés locales dans les projets numériques d’étude et de valorisation des manuscrits arabes et <em>ajami</em>?</span></p> <p class="MsoBodyText" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">La revue RSSI s’ouvre à tous les champs de recherche pouvant aborder l’histoire, le traitement et la valorisation des manuscrits arabes et <em>ajami </em>sous leurs différents aspects, incluant les outils numériques et l’IA. Seront ainsi acceptées les propositions d’articles issues des sciences de l’information et de la communication, de l’informatique, de la sémiotique, des sciences cognitives, des sciences sociales, de la linguistique, des sciences historiques et littéraires. Chacune de ces disciplines aborde la question du traitement de texte à l’aide de ses propres grilles d’analyse, théoriques et méthodologiques. Ces approches respectives faciliteraient l’identification de points de convergence entre les diverses disciplines, permettant ainsi la conception de modèles de traitement dans lesquels différents domaines de recherche pourraient s’intégrer.</span></p> <p class="MsoBodyText" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">Les propositions d’articles peuvent s’appuyer sur ces réflexions initiales et être de nature théorique, empirique ou fondées sur des études de cas pratiques dans leur domaine d’étude. Les approches interdisciplinaires explorant l’intersection entre les outils numériques, y compris l’IA, et le patrimoine sont également encouragées.
