elf.<br>‘We want to unload that weird goblin crown, right?’ asked the druid. ‘I don’t like it here any more than you do.’<br>The elf looked nervous as the gnome sighed. Then the brownie returned and waved them over. The elf gripped the crown until it almost hurt and hoped they would find a good price.<br><br>The trio left town just before the goblin assassins arrived.</em></p> <p><strong>Tapping of Snitches and Fences </strong>(Illusionist)</p> <p>Level 2</p> <p>Range: Current village, town or city (See below).</p> <p>Duration: Special.</p> <p>This odd spell summons a brownie or similar fey creature that the caster then sends off to find a suitable source of information or fence for the caster and/or their associates. Villages and smaller towns only have a 50% chance of being helpful in this endeavor, while larger cities and cosmopolitan areas have a 90% chance of being helpful. This spell does not guarantee smooth transactions, it does pinpoint the current location and known hangouts of helpful individuals. they are armed to the teeth and dangerous,’ the sorcerer replied.<br>‘Let’s not go waving to them then,’ Bakra-do said as the trio sank down among the rocks they were hiding among.</em></p> caster details about in flags or banners in their line of sight. Roll percentile dice; 75% or below are general details such as where the flag or banner is from, what it represents and the general alignment associated with that symbol whereas a result of 76%+ eyed the strange thing dubiously.<br>‘It could be worth a few gold in Thek-ganab,’ the gnome replied.<br>‘You heard him,’ the elf said, jabbing the gnome in the ribs with a well aimed toe.<br>The gnome pouted and crossed his arms.<br>‘Do you hear birds singing?’ Fellhorn asked the others.<br>Elf and gnome both shook their heads.<br>‘Drop that as we cross the lake, let that bad magic sleep a while,’ the druid implored.<br>Acting as if it pained him greatly the gnome complied as the trio crossed the lake.</em></p> <p>What strange mage or mischievous deity created such a thing? One thing is for sure, it causes a lot of chaos wherever it goes. And even if ‘lost’ in a deep lake or ocean it always seems to surface again and again.</p> <p><em>Benefit:</em> When held or carried by a sentient being the amulet causes first all wild birds to flee the area in roughly a one mile radius. If the magic item is not moved after three days then domestic birds do anything that they can to escape the area. After five days Intelligent avian creatures become agitated and irritable, with a 25% chance of knowing the reason for their agitation and they will either try to find the amulet or get away from it. Irritability grows in an avians exposed to the charm after two weeks after which sentient avians gain an insanity while wild or domestic birds die.</p> <p><em>Usable by:</em> Anyone.</p> <div and admiring.<br>The human mercenary looked puzzled.<br>‘That blade. It isn’t meant for you,’ the dwarf said.<br>As Skorbi the wizard walked by Bakra-do seemed to make an unconscious stab at the spellcaster.<br>‘Hey, watch it!’ the wizard yelled as Bakra-do stepped back and glared at the knife.<br>‘We are going to need a cleric too,’ the dwarf grumbled.</em></p> <p>Was Norford a dwarf trickster or xenophobe? Nobody can remember, yet he made some wicked weapons, some say, ‘to be left behind’ for others to find. Some dwarves find this amusing, other a shame that it was created.</p> <p><em>Benefit:</em> These blades are all possessed by the spirit of an angry dwarf berserker and will, depending on their owner, either behave at first or attack their bearer. A successful hit means that the dagger turns on its owner (if not a dwarf) for the first round of combat and deals 1d6+1 damage, or, if the owner is a dwarf, turns on any non-dwarf within 10′ 25% of the time, maybe the intended target, maybe an ally. Anyone bearer to drop the dagger must make a Wisdom Saving Throw with a -2 penalty to drop it. With skin like the wood of an old walnut tree and small, piercing black eyes these short, thin Fey look eerie and are formidable in combat. It deals 1d4+1 in combat, which might not help your situation.</p> <p><em>Benefit:</em> Other than the combat stat noted above this stone is probably best used out of a fight. When held for three rounds this fiercely cold stone warms to the touch of it’s current holder. This gives its bearer a clear glimpse of their final destination after death up to this point in their lives. This is private information with one word, an adjective of the referee’s choice, as the final statement. got everyone’s attention, the wail of pain by Krogi only punctuated the assault. Thoz threw a silver dagger at the arch-bandit while Arakam winged a shrieking spell right behind that dagger.A howl of agony and the great bandit fell, his men suddenly scattered in fear.<br>‘We’d better get out of here before they regroup,’ suggested Thoz.<br>‘Grab the whip before he regains his wits,’ Arakam said.<br>‘I don’t want to touch that thing,’ exclaimed the thief.<br>‘And I don’t want to be on the receiving end of it,’ replied the wizard who nodded towards a cringing Krogi who was frantically scratching all over.<br>Gingerly the thief collected the whip into a sack and the trio escaped at the slowed pace of the fighter.</em></p> <p>A formidable looking whip made of a devil’s hide this weapon is not fun to be on the receiving end of. Some question of alignment of anyone using this more than once.</p> <p><em>Benefit:</em> In combat this whip deals 1d6+2 points of damage and the victim, if hit, must make a Save vs Paralysis or be pushed back 10+1d10 feet and suffer from a hideous roaming rash for 2d4 days, reducing movement by 50% and all attacks at –2. <em>Cure Disease</em> will dispel the affliction as will the Lay On Hands spell tucked away in his spellbook for a “just in case” situation.<br>Three days later he had food and drink, a small chest of magical bits and bobs and had to climb a tree to avoid a giant crab that came up from under the waves that lapped the small island. When those looking for him finally came they found the sorcerer almost sad to be rescued. Except for the incident with the giant crab.</em></p> <p><strong>Call Flotsam, Summon Jetsam </strong>(Any)</p> <p>Level 2</p> <p>Range: 150’+50’/level.</p> <p>Duration: Instantaneous, see below.</p> <p>Mostly beneficial, or at least somewhat useful, this spell can go awry as well. When utilized this spell allows the caster to draw all floating items within range to themselves. Floating means on something in a liquid state, such as water from a giant lake or ocean, After cast roll 1d12 consult the table below:<br><br><br><br>1-3 Nothing at all or kelp/broken crates or pallets.</p> <p>4 Food/drink that is still edible. Enough for 1d4 days.</p> <p>5 Same as above except for 1d4+1 weeks.
