and we were by nature children of wrath even as the rest. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>made <i>us</i> alive with Christ even we being dead in trespasses—by grace you are saved— <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>and He raised <i>us</i> up together and seated <i>us</i> together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>in order that in the coming ages He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; <i>it is</i> the gift of God, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. </p><p class="hdg">One in Christ</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Therefore remember that formerly you—the Gentiles in <i>the</i> flesh, the ones being called <i>the</i> uncircumcision by that being called <i>the</i> circumcision, made by hands in <i>the</i> flesh— <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>that at that time you were separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, not having hope and without God in the world. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>But now in Christ Jesus you, the <i>ones</i> once being far off, have become near by the blood of Christ. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>For He Himself is our peace, having made both one and having broken down the barrier of the partition of hostility, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>having annulled in His flesh the law of commandments in ordinances, so that He might create in Himself the two into one new man, making peace, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and He might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross, by it having slain the hostility. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And having come, He proclaimed the gospel: peace to you, the <i>ones</i> far off, and peace to those near. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. </p><p class="hdg">A Temple in the Lord</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but are fellow citizens of the saints and of the household of God, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being <i>the</i> cornerstone, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is increasing into a holy temple in <i>the</i> Lord, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ephesians/2-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>in whom you also are being built together for a habitation of God in <i>the</i> Spirit.<A name="fn"><br /><br /><br /></div></div><div id="botbox"><div class="padbot"><div align="center">The Berean Bible<br /><a href="//berean.bible">www.Berean.Bible</a><br /><br /><a href="//literalbible.com">Berean Literal Bible (BLB)</a><br />© 2016 by <a href="//biblehub.com">Bible Hub</a> and <a href="//berean.bible">Berean.Bible</a><br />Used by Permission.
