perhaps LORD JEHOVAH shall call to meet me and the answer that He shows to me I shall show it to you”; and he went straight forward.<p> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And God was revealed to Balaam and said to him: “Seven altars you have prepared and you offered up bulls and rams on the altar.” <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH put the word in the mouth of Balaam and said to him: “Go to Balaq and thus speak.” <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And he came to him and he stood with his burnt offerings he and all the Princes of Moab.<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And he lifted up his proverb and said: “From Aram, from the mountains of the East, Balaq, the King of the Moabites, has led me and said to me: ‘Come curse Yaquuv for me and come destroy Israel for me.’<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>How shall I curse him that has God not cursed, and how shall I destroy him whom LORD JEHOVAH has not destroyed?<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>Because from the top of the mountains I saw him, and from Ramtha, his limit; behold the people dwells alone and is not counted among the nations.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Who can count the troubles of Yaquuv and the number of the fourth of Israel? May my soul die the death of their upright ones and may my end be like them.”<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And Balaq said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I called you to curse my enemies and behold, blessing, you bless them.” <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And Balaam answered and said, “Behold, whatever LORD JEHOVAH puts in my mouth is what I observe to speak.”<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And Balaq said to him: “Come with me to another region that you may see it from there, however its uttermost reaches you shall see and you shall not see all of it, and curse it for me from there.” <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And he led him to a field of the Watchmen to the top of Ramtha, and he built seven altars and offered up bulls and rams on the altars. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And Balaam said to Balaq: “Arise here with your burnt offerings and I shall come as far as here.” <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH was revealed to Balaam and put the word in his mouth and said to him: “Go to Balaq and thus say to him.” <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And he came to him and he was standing with his burnt offerings and the Princes of Moab with him and said to Balaq what LORD JEHOVAH said.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And he lifted up his proverb and said, “Arise, Balaq and hear, and give ear to my testimony, son of Tsephor.<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>God is not a man that He would lie, neither a son of man to be advised; LORD JEHOVAH his God is with him and the glory of his King is in him.<p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>God has brought them forth from Egypt by his strength and with his majesty.<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>Because no divination is in Yaquuv neither an oracle in Israel, according to this time it will be said to Yaquuv and to Israel, ‘What God has done!.’<p> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/23-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>Behold the people rises up as a lion and like a lion lifts himself up;
