Your days have come and the time of your years has arrived; because of this I have given you as a reproach to the nations and a mockery to all cities <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>Those that are distant from you and those who are near to you mock at you, and they shall tell the abomination of her name and the greatness of her evil<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>Behold, the Princes of Israel, each man in his family, were in you that they would shed blood <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>They have cursed father and mother among you, and him who is converted to me they have rejected within you, and the orphans and the widows they defrauded among you <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And my holy things you have despised, and my Sabbaths you have profaned <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And men merchants were among you that they would shed blood, and they ate upon the mountains among you and they did sin within you <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And they exposed among you the nakedness of the fathers, and they have produced the impurity of a menstruous woman within you <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And they have defiled, each man, the wife of his neighbor, and they have defiled, each man, his daughter in law with prostitution, and they despised among you, each man, his sister the daughter of his father <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And they have taken bribes among you, that they would shed blood, and they have taken interest among you, and they took too much from you, and they betrayed their friends in oppression, and they have forgotten me, says THE LORD OF LORDS<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Also I struck my hand against my hand over the evil that you have done, and over the blood that has been shed within you <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>Your heart will not endure and your hands will not hold fast for the days that I will make. I, LORD JEHOVAH, have spoken, and I have done it <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And I shall scatter you among the Gentiles and I shall scatter you among the cities <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And I shall admonish you before the eyes of the nations, and you shall know that I AM LORD JEHOVAH”<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon me, saying: <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>“Son of man, they of the house of Israel have been rejected by me, all of them, like brass and like tin and like iron and like lead within a furnace, which are mixed with silver <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>Because thus says THE LORD OF LORDS: because all of you are mixed, behold, I gather you within Jerusalem <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>As silver and brass and iron and tin and lead are collected within a furnace, and they blow fire on them that they would be melted, thus I shall gather you in my passion and in my anger I shall melt you <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And I shall blow upon you the fire of my passion and I shall melt you within it <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>As silver is melted within a furnace, thus you shall be melted within it, and you shall know that I AM LORD JEHOVAH. I have poured my wrath upon you”<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon me, saying: <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>“Son of man, say to her: ‘You, the land, are not clean, and you are not acceptable and rain did not come down upon you <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>Her Prophets have rebelled within her as a lion that roars, and he rips the prey. They consumed souls by their strength and they took precious things from their palaces <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Her Priests have done evil against my law and they have defiled my holiness, and between holiness and the unclean they have not distinguished, and they have not discerned between the defiled and the pure, and they have lowered their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am defiled among them <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>Her Princes do violence within her like wolves to shed blood and to destroy souls that they would possess property <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And her Prophets beat her with a beating that she would fall. They have seen emptiness for themselves and divined falsehood for themselves, and they were saying, “Thus says LORD JEHOVAH”, and LORD JEHOVAH has not spoken <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>They have defrauded and they have oppressed the people of the land, and have wronged the poor and the afflicted, and those who converted to me they oppressed without justice <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And I searched among them for a man who would build a fence and stand in the gap before me for the sake of the land, that I would not destroy it, and I did not find him <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/22-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And I poured upon them my anger, and in the fire of my anger I destroyed them.
