Locke, Ph.D., serves as the Chair of the Department of Information Systems and Director of the AI Research Laboratory at Auburn University at Montgomery. Holding a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Auburn University, Dr. Locke's academic journey encompasses a rich blend of research and industry experience. With a B.A. in Economics, OPM from Harvard Business School, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, his career path reflects a deep commitment to both practical innovation and academic research.</p> <p>Dr. Locke's research focus lies in advancing deep learning methodologies, particularly in the realm of neural network activation functions. A particular research focus is on leading innovation and gaining organizational advantage in exponential growth environments. His tenure at AUM has been focused heavily on AI where he established the AI Research Lab, facilitating groundbreaking research in machine learning. Additionally, he established AI-focused curricula in the College of Business and led the approval for a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence, the first at any business school in the
