Elles constituent une activité culturelle incarnée dans des institutions et des acteurs historiques, justifiée au sein d’une vision du monde propre à une civilisation, mais elles prétendent aussi dépasser leur contexte géographique et historique pour accéder à un savoir et une communauté universels. Cette ambiguïté entre une réalité locale et un projet universel caractérise les rapports rétroactifs qu’entretiennent sciences et culture.</p> <p>Ainsi, en arrière fond de tout paradigme scientifique et technique, &oelig;uvre une philosophie, ensemble non testable de propositions tenues pour vraies, souvent traduit en termes de valeurs, qui limite, certes, le type de questions posées par la science, mais qui lui donne aussi son inspiration.</p> <p>Le colloque "Sciences et culture" propose d’interroger le sens des sciences au sein de notre civilisation, à travers trois thèmes : <br />-  Leur histoire : continuité ou rupture de l’identité des sciences ? <br />-  Leurs effets : Quel monde et quelle représentation du monde construisent les sciences ? <br />-  Leur transmission : Pourquoi et comment enseigner les sciences ?</p> <p>Quelle est ou devrait être la fonction pédagogique des sciences ? Comment transmettre les savoirs scientifiques ?</p> <h3>PROGRAMME</h3> <p>Le colloque se déroule en trois temps : chaque session traite un thème.</p> <p>-  9h : Introduction, Francis Leboeuf, Directeur des études, Ecole Centrale de Lyon <br />-  9h30 - 10h30 : Histoire des sciences et des savants : continuité ou rupture ?</p> <p>1.1.
