Perhaps<MH194> they will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>understand<MH7200>, though<MH3588> they are a rebellious<MH4805> house<MH1004>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Bring<MH3318> your baggage<MH3627> out<MH3318> by day<MH3119> in their sight<MH5869>, as baggage<MH3627> for exile<MH1473>. Then you shall go<MH3318> out<MH3318> at evening<MH6153> in their sight<MH5869>, as those who are going<MH4161> into exile<MH1473>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Dig<MH2864> a hole through the wall<MH7023> in their sight<MH5869> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>go<MH3318> out<MH3318> through it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Load<MH5375> <i>the baggage</i> on <i>your</i> shoulder<MH3802> in their sight<MH5869> <i>and</i> carry<MH3318> <i>it</i> out<MH3318> in the dark<MH5939>. You shall cover<MH3680> your face<MH6440> so that you cannot<MH3808> see<MH7200> the land<MH776>, for I have set<MH5414> you as a sign<MH4159> to the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Then I did<MH6213a> so<MH3651>, just<MH3512c> as<MH3512c> I had been commanded<MH6680>. By day<MH3119> I brought<MH3318> out<MH3318> my baggage<MH3627> like the baggage<MH3627> of an exile<MH1473>. Then in the evening<MH6153> I dug<MH2864> through the wall<MH7023> with my hands<MH3027>; I went<MH3318> out<MH3318> in the dark<MH5939> <i>and</i> carried<MH5375> <i>the baggage</i> on <i>my</i> shoulder<MH3802> in their sight<MH5869>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And in the morning<MH1242> the word<MH1697> of the LORD<MH3068> came<MH1961> to me, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>“Son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, has the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>, the rebellious<MH4805> house<MH1004>, not said<MH559> to you, ‘What<MH4100> are you doing<MH6213a>?’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Say<MH559> to them, ‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “This<MH2088> pronouncement<MH4853b> <i>concerns</i> the prince<MH5387a> in Jerusalem<MH3389> as well as all<MH3605> the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> who<MH834> are <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>in it.”’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Say<MH559>, ‘I am <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>a sign<MH4159> to you. Just<MH3512c> as<MH3512c> I have done<MH6213a>, so<MH3651> it will be done<MH6213a> to them; they will go<MH1980> into exile<MH1473>, into captivity<MH7628b>.’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>The prince<MH5387a> who<MH834> is among<MH8432> them will load<MH5375> <i>his baggage</i> on <i>his</i> shoulder<MH3802> in the dark<MH5939> and go<MH3318> out<MH3318>. <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>They will dig<MH2864> a hole through the wall<MH7023> to bring<MH3318> <i>it</i> out<MH3318> through it. He will cover<MH3680> his face<MH6440> so<MH3282, 834> that he cannot see<MH7200> the land<MH776> with <i>his</i> eyes<MH5869>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>I will also spread<MH6566> My net<MH7568> over<MH5921> him, and he will be caught<MH8610> in My net<MH4686a>. And I will bring<MH935> him to Babylon<MH894> in the land<MH776> of the Chaldeans<MH3778>; yet he will not see<MH7200> it, though he will die<MH4191> there<MH8033>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And I will scatter<MH2219> to every<MH3605> wind<MH7307> all<MH3605> who<MH834> are around<MH5439> him, his helpers<MH5828> and all<MH3605> his troops<MH102>; and I will draw<MH7385a> out<MH7385a> a sword<MH2719> after<MH310> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>So they will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>, when I disperse<MH6327a> them among the nations<MH1471> and scatter<MH2219> them among the countries<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>But I will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>spare<MH3498> a few<MH4557> of them from the sword<MH2719>, the famine<MH7458>, and plague<MH1698> so<MH4616> that<MH4616> they may tell<MH5608> of all<MH3605> their abominations<MH8441> among the nations<MH1471> where<MH834, 8033> they go<MH935>, and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>may know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Moreover, the word<MH1697> of the LORD<MH3068> came<MH1961> to me, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>“Son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, eat<MH398> your bread<MH3899> with trembling<MH7494>, and drink<MH8354> your water<MH4325> with quivering<MH7269> and anxiety<MH1674>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Then say<MH559> to the people<MH5971a> of the land<MH776>, ‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559> concerning the inhabitants<MH3427> of Jerusalem<MH3389> in the land<MH127> of Israel<MH3478>: “They will eat<MH398> their bread<MH3899> with anxiety<MH1674> and drink<MH8354> their water<MH4325> with horror<MH8078>, because<MH4616> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>their land<MH776> will be <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>stripped<MH8074> of its fullness<MH4393> on account<MH6440> of the violence<MH2555> of all<MH3605> who live<MH3427> in it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>The inhabited<MH3427> cities<MH5892b> will be in ruins<MH2717b>, and the land<MH776> will be a desolation<MH8077>. So you will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>.”’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Then the word<MH1697> of the LORD<MH3068> came<MH1961> to me, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>“Son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, what<MH4100> is this<MH2088> proverb<MH4912> you <i>people</i> have about<MH5921> the land<MH127> of Israel<MH3478>, saying<MH559>, ‘The days<MH3117> are long<MH748>, and every<MH3605> vision<MH2377> fails<MH6>’? <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651> say<MH559> to them, ‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “I will put<MH7673a> an<MH7673a> end<MH7673a> to<MH7673a> this<MH2088> proverb<MH4912> so that they will no<MH3808> longer<MH5750> use<MH4911b> it as<MH4911b> a<MH4911b> proverb<MH4911b> in Israel<MH3478>.” But tell<MH1696> them, “The days<MH3117> are approaching<MH7126> as well as the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>fulfillment<MH1697> of every<MH3605> vision<MH2377>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>For there will no<MH3808> longer<MH5750> be any<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>false<MH7723> vision<MH2377> or deceptive<MH2509> divination<MH4738> within<MH8432> the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>For I the LORD<MH3068> will speak<MH1696> whatever<MH834> word<MH1697> I speak<MH1696>, and it will be performed<MH6213a>. It will no<MH3808> longer<MH5750> be delayed<MH4900>, for in your days<MH3117>, you rebellious<MH4805> house<MH1004>, I will speak<MH1696> the word<MH1697> and perform<MH6213a> it,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>.’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>Furthermore, the word<MH1697> of the LORD<MH3068> came<MH1961> to me, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>“Son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, behold<MH2009>, the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> is saying<MH559>, ‘The vision<MH2377> that he sees<MH2372> is for many<MH7227a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>years<MH3117> <i>from now,</i> and he prophesies<MH5012> of times<MH6256> far<MH7350> off<MH7350>.’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/12-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651> say<MH559> to them, ‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “None<MH3808, 3605> of My words<MH1697> will be delayed<MH4900> any<MH5750> longer<MH5750>.
