style="text-align: left;">Les pratiques religieuses jouent souvent un rôle central, bien que négligé par la littérature, dans le façonnement et la reconfiguration des paysages sociaux et politiques, particulièrement dans des contextes où les marges de politisation et d’engagement sont limitées par des rapports de pouvoir déséquilibrés. Ce phénomène est notamment observable dans les sociétés africaines contemporaines, où divers pratiques religieuses s’entremêlent à la vie civique et politique. Ce panel souhaite explorer les expressions multiples, complexes, voire contradictoires, de ces pratiques religieuses et leur contribution à l’analyse de l’engagement politique et de l’activisme.<br>Dans ce sens, des pratiques telles que les rassemblements/rencontres/assemblées spirituels, les prières collectives ou individuelles, les prêches ainsi que d’autres techniques de soi comme le jeun ou le porte du voile reflètent non seulement des expressions de piété, mais aussi des sites de reconfiguration et d’action des sujets citoyens.</p> <p style="text-align: left;">Cette session se penche ainsi sur la manière dont ces pratiques redéfinissent le champ de l’engagement politique, en intégrant des éléments de solidarité sociale, de mobilisation collective et de subjectivation politique. This phenomenon is particularly observable in contemporary African societies, where diverse religious practices are interwoven with civic and political life. This panel aims to explore the multiple, complex and even contradictory expressions of these religious practices, and their contribution to the analysis of political engagement and activism.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">In this sense, practices such as spiritual gatherings/meetings/assemblies, collective or individual prayer, preaching and other techniques of the self such as fasting or veiling reflect not only expressions of piety, but also sites of reconfiguration and action by citizen subjects.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US">This session examines how these practices redefine the field of political engagement, integrating elements of social solidarity, collective mobilization and political subjectivation. From large institutionalized movements with international ramifications to local religious communities, these different religious activities are the bearers of important individual, collective and public projects, inaugurating a fluid dynamic of interweaving religious and political spheres in civic experience.<br>We will examine how everyday religious practices constitute forms of political and civic expression, in which new power relations and plural forms of authority can be identified, while remaining attentive to the influence of social factors and individual trajectories.</span></p> <p
