Wail at dawn! You are fallen into the ground, Infamous One of the nations!<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>You have said in your heart: ‘I shall ascend to Heaven, and higher than the stars of God I shall lift my throne, and I shall sit in the high mountain that is in the slopes of the North!<p> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And I shall ascend above the height of the clouds and I shall be like The Highest’<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Therefore, to Sheol you shall descend, to the bottom of the pit<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Everyone who looks upon you shall gaze and they shall recognize you and they shall say: ‘This is the man who had enraged the Earth and shook kingdoms!<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And he laid waste to the world as a wilderness, and he has ruined the cities and he did not release his prisoners’<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>All Kings of the nations have fallen asleep in honor, each man in his house<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And you were cast from your grave as a shoot rejected by the garments of the slain who were killed by the sword, that go down into the stones of the pit, like corpses trodden down<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And you shall not rejoice with them in the grave, because you destroyed your land and you have killed your people. And his hand is raised, who is going to turn it back?”<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>The burden of Palestine: in the year that Akhaz the King died was this burden:<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>“You shall not rejoice, because the rod of him who oppressed you has been broken, all of you Palestine, because from the germination of a serpent a viper went out, and its fruit, a flying dragon<p> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And the first born of the poor and afflicted shall feed in quietness; they shall lie down, and I shall kill your root with famine, and what is left of you shall be killed<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/14-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>Howl, Oh city! Cry, oh city!
