la igualdad de género, la erradicación de la pobreza y el crecimiento económico inclusivo. Las mujeres contribuyen de manera muy significativa a las economías, ya sea en empresas, granjas, como emprendedoras o empleadas o trabajando como cuidadoras domésticas no remuneradas.</p> <p>Por otro lado, siguen sufriendo de manera desproporcionada la pobreza, la discriminación y la explotación. La discriminación de género implica que a menudo las mujeres acaban desempeñando trabajos no seguros y mal pagados, y siguen siendo una pequeña minoría en puestos directivos. La discriminación también reduce el acceso a bienes económicos como la tierra y los préstamos y limita su participación en el diseño de políticas sociales y económicas. Otro aspecto a considerar es que el grueso de las tareas domésticas recae en las mujeres, por lo que suelen tener poco tiempo libre para aprovechar oportunidades económicas.</p> <h2>Nuestras soluciones</h2> <p>Diversos compromisos internacionales apoyan el empoderamiento económico de las mujeres, entre ellas la <a href="https://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/beijing/platform/">Plataforma de Acción de Beijing</a>, la <a href="http://www2.ohchr.org/spanish/law/cedaw.htm">Convención sobre la eliminación de todas las formas de discriminación contra la mujer</a> y diversos <a href="http://www.ilo.org/gender/Aboutus/ILOandgenderequality/lang--es/index.htm">convenios sobre la igualdad de género</a> de la Organización Internacional del Trabajo. ONU Mujeres apoya el empoderamiento económico de las mujeres con base en estos compromisos,  así como con la evidencia, cada vez más numerosa, que demuestra que la igualdad de género contribuye de manera importante al impulso de las economías y al desarrollo sostenible.</p> <p><a name="GoBack"></a>Gracias al trabajo en conjunto con varios socios, los programas promueven la capacidad de las mujeres de asegurar trabajos decentes, acumular bienes e influir en las instituciones y las políticas públicas que determinan el crecimiento y el desarrollo. Un aspecto fundamental de interés radica en impulsar que se cuantifique el trabajo no remunerado que realizan las mujeres como cuidadoras y tomar acciones para que las mujeres y los hombres estén más dispuestas/os a combinar estas tareas con el empleo remunerado.</p> <p>En todos nuestros programas de empoderamiento económico, ONU Mujeres atiende a las mujeres que más lo necesitan, a menudo en colaboración con organizaciones de la sociedad civil y de base. Entre los grupos especialmente marginados se encuentran las mujeres rurales, las trabajadoras domésticas, algunas migrantes y mujeres con habilidades poco desarrolladas.
