<span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And you have seen all that the LORD your God has done to all these nations, which he destroyed from before you; for it is the LORD your God who has fought for you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>Behold, I have not divided to you the land of these nations that remain, in the inheritance of your tribes; but from the Jordan, all the nations that I have destroyed, even to the Great Sea westward, have I divided among you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>The LORD your God will defeat them, and destroy them from before you; and you shall possess their land, as the LORD your God has promised you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>Only be strong to keep and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, the servant of God, and not turn aside from it, neither to the right hand nor to the left; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And you shall not mix with these nations that remain among you; neither make mention of the names of their gods, nor swear by them, neither serve them, nor worship them; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>But cleave to the LORD your God, as you have done even to this day. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>For the LORD has destroyed from before you great and strong nations; and no man has been able to stand against you to this day. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>One man of you shall chase a thousand; for the LORD your God is with you, he it is who fights for you, as he has promised you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>Take good heed therefore to yourselves, to revere the LORD your God. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>For if you ever turn back and join the remnant of these nations that remain among you and make marriages with them and mix with them and they with you; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Then know for sure that the LORD your God will no more destroy these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and spears in your sides and fishhooks in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And as for me, I am now going the way of all the earth; and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good promises which the LORD your God spoke concerning you; all have come to pass to you, and not one thing has failed. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Therefore, just as all the good things have come upon you which the LORD your God promised, so shall come upon you all the curses, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/joshua/23-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>If you should transgress against the covenant of the LORD your God and against the commandments which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and worship them;
