The data were analyzed using Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (Hˈ), Margalef’s Index (species richness), Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). The study collected 3,342 individuals comprising 37 species (19 families). In terms of fish species richness, 36 species were identified in Pansipit, whereas Looc and Magapi had 21 species each. The fish samples were mostly included eurayhaline, secondary freshwater fishes. The three most abundant groups were eleotrids, cichlids, and gobiids. Shannon-Weiner’s diversity indices ranged from 2.17–3.05, which suggest that the studied rivers were moderately to slightly impacted. A total of six fish species were collected namely rohu carp (Labeo rohita), silver carp (Hypoththalmichthys molitrix), common carp (Cyprinus carpio), striped snakehead (Channa strita), Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and crucian carp (Carassius carassius). Nile tilapia comprised the highest relative abundance (50.88%; n = 29) from the total fish catches (N = 55). The Cabiao area of the Pampanga River has a fish species diversity index value of 1.42, with evenness of 0.73 and species dominance (Simpson’s index) of 0.67.</p><div The study was aimed to investigate fish diversity in the downstream area of Cipanas River. The study was conducted by survey methods with census data collection techniques, taken place at 3 stations of Santing, Tempalong, and Cemara of Indramayu Regency. The parameters measured consisted water quality and fish assemblages. Water quality was measured referring to standard laboratory protocol, and fish collection was made by case net with different mesh sizes. The results showed that water quality conditions of the Cipanas River downstream was suitable for inhabiting fishes. There were as many as 548 individual fishes caught belonging to 21 species, 16 genera, and 14 families.
