Please also review the <a href="https://minifree.org/privacy-policy/">Privacy Policy</a>.</p> <p>As for terms of service: the website and communications infrastructure like email, are not restricted in anyway; by this, it means you can freely access the website and send email to Minifree. The terms of service for business (provision of products and services), including returns policy, is written below. Minifree’s terms are very simple: pay for the order, and the order will be shipped, under the warranty / return policy documented below.</p> <p>Additionally, as part of terms of service: Free technical support is provided for all customers, via email and IRC, even if your warranty has expired. If you have any questions at all about your machine, please feel free to ask and your queries will be responded to in due course.</p> <p>As of 17 August 2022, the default warranty is now 5 years for all orders. This page used to say 3 years, but now it’s 5. If you had the 3 year warranty and it was still valid on 17 August 2022, it has now been extended +2 years. Furthermore: the 3 year warranty policy was enacted on 8 September 2021, to replace what was a 2 year warranty before this date; if you had the 2 year warranty and it was still valid on 8 September 2021, this page told you it had been extended by +1 year. If your product had its warranty extended +1 year per *that* decree, your warranty has now been extended a further +2 years, so that you benefit from the new 5-year policy.</p> <p><strong>Shipping costs and shipping time ETA:</strong> <a href="https://minifree.org/shipping-costs/">click here to know about shipping speed/cost</a></p> <hr /> <p>Quality customer service is extremely important to Minifree. One aspect to this level of quality is that you should be able to *understand* the terms of sale! Therefore, they have been written in clear English instead of Legalese! Please read them below.</p> <p>Minifree Ltd operates in the UK. Minifree has shipped products internationally for years, successfully. Minifree has a great deal of knowledge and experience! <em>Minifree has shipped to USA, Canada, mainland Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America and the Middle East! Minifree’s laptops have reached many people all over the world.</em></p> <p>The purpose of this document is 1) To define your rights as a consumer, and 2) Explain (clearly and logically) how international shipping works, when you order from Minifree. Minifree has taken every step to make the process as easy as possible!</p> <p>The laptops that Minifree sells come with battery charger PSUs that are 120-240V auto-switching, so they will work automatically in all countries. Minifree provides multiple power plugs for different countries, so that the laptops work properly in all countries.</p> <p><a href="/shipping-costs/">For information about shipping costs, click here!</a></p> <h1>Terms and Conditions of sale</h1> <p>All physical products listed on minifree.org are custom-built to order. Minifree strives to ensure fast and reliable fulfilment of orders. Packages are sealed in lots of bubble wrap inside strong boxes (double thickness), to keep the contents safe during shipping.</p> <p>Goods/services are provided *only* after the payment is received for your order. When payment is received, Minifree will provide the goods/services promptly in due course!</p> <h1>Importing Minifree products into your country</h1> <p>Minifree Ltd is a VAT registered company in the UK (company info is at the bottom of every page on this website). Minifree ships from a lab in the UK. To ensure that your package arrives safely, Minifree uses high quality packing material and an <em>excessive</em> amount of bubble wrap. Great care is taken, to ensure that your package contents survive international shipping!</p> <p><strong>Minifree Ltd handles the export documentation for you automatically, so you don’t need to worry. When the goods arrive in your country, the courier handles all tax paperwork for you automatically. You do not need to worry!</strong> The courier will ask you to pay a small amount covering import tax for your country (it’s <em>usually</em> the same as local VAT / sales tax in your country), plus a small handling fee (e.g. $20 USD) to support the courier’s cost of completing the tax paperwork for you. <em>The courier handles everything for you, to make your life easy!</em> Payment is done via debit/credit card, on the phone or via the courier’s online system. When the courier receives your payment, the package will arrive at your location quickly. Easy!</p> <p>Different countries have different % percentage for the import tax. Please check your country’s rate! Here is a general idea of what to expect:</p> <ul> <li>Most other countries including European ones have a rate close to 20%</li> <li>Some countries are closer to 10% (e.g. Australia, Switzerland)</li> <li>In practise, most states of USA don’t typically charge import tax on these machines</li> <li>Some countries don’t even charge import tax! (or it is often not enforced)</li> </ul> <p>These import taxes are similar to local VAT or sales tax. Additionally, some countries might impose *tariffs*, usually between 2-5% of the sale value. <strong>UK and EU have a free trade deal. If you’re in the EU, you only pay VAT and 0% tariff charge. UK/EU have tariff-free trade with each other. USA/Canadian customers importing laptops only pay sales tax, if tax is charged at all.<br /> </strong></p> <p>Minifree Ltd is not responsible for your tax (if Minifree is exporting products to your country). You must pay the import tax yourself. Minifree does not control it. Tax is specified by your government, and the courier handles the paperwork for you to make things easier.</p> <h1>5 year warranty and 30 day money back guarantee</h1> <p>If what you ordered develops a fault or is dead on arrival, you can return it within 5 years from the day it arrived at your specified shipping address. Please email before sending it back, and preferably provide the tracking number (use tracked shipping!). In the package, include a note specifying your name and original order number. At your option, Minifree will reimburse your shipping costs up to a maximum of 拢50 GBP (50 British Pounds) or the value on your shipping receipt, whichever is lower.</p> <p>When you return the product and it arrives at Minifree’s lab within the 5 year warranty period, you have 3 choices: 1) Refund or 2) Minifree fix the fault and send it back to you, or 3) Minifree send you a full replacement product.</p> <p>In addition to the above terms: after you placed your order, you can cancel your purchase at any time, for any reason, and receive a full refund, for a maximum of 30 days after the day you placed your order. After the product arrives, this 30 day period is extended by however many days it took for the product to arrive as the tracking record. For example, if you order a laptop on August 1st and it arrives on August 10th, the 30 day guarantee does NOT end on August 31st, instead it will end on September 10th.</p> <p>If you cancel and the product is en route to your location (has been shipped), Minifree will instruct the courier to reverse the shipment (it might still arrive at your location). If the product is in your possession, you must ship it back to us.</p> <p>Refunds, repairs and/or product replacements are only provided when the original product is at Minifree’s business premise. This means that if you currently hold the product, you must ship it back and it must arrive at Minifree’s place of business.</p> <p>That is actually one of the reasons you should buy from Minifree, because Minifree gives you this choice! There are other companies on the internet that will legally require you to pay. Minifree don’t do any of that. You have the moral right to change your mind at any time, subject to the 30 day money back guarantee defined above. It should be that you want you to keep the laptop and continue using it because you *love* it, and because you choose to, so the best effort is made to provide the highest quality service!</p> <p>If Minifree will fix/replace a broken/faulty product during this 5 year warranty period, the warranty period will be extended by an additional 6 months. If fixed/replaced for a second time after that, Minifree will extend the warranty period by a further 3 months, and Minifree will not extend further than that. <em>Most of Minifree’s customers don’t need to send it back! Their laptops are still working just fine, 5 years later!</em></p> <p>Finally, Minifree does not discriminate based on race, gender identity, ethnicity, political affiliation or other metric.
