The flooding spread to the east and inundated most of Arabi (except for areas of high ground near the river.) In Arabi, Betsy began to die down around 3am. The first wave of water struck shortly after 9:00 a.m. and quickly surged all the way to the levee of the <a href="/wiki/Mississippi_River" title="Mississippi River">Mississippi River</a>.
