Yo no creo que exista eso que algunos llaman &quot;derechos colectivos&quot; (que siempre acaban conculcando algún derecho individual), pero vamos a dejar por ahora esa cuestión aparcada. Admitamos que existen, y que el de &quot;autodeterminación&quot; es uno de ellos. Para ser un &quot;derecho&quot; debería ser equitativo, que es lo mínimo que se puede pedir a un &quot;derecho&quot;. Y siendo un &quot;derecho colectivo&quot;, es decir un &quot;derecho&quot; cuyos sujetos son colectivos y no individuos, debería por tanto poder ser aplicado de igual manera a todos los colectivos, sin importar su tamaño. Pero en la práctica vemos que no, que para los defensores del &quot;derecho a la determinación&quot; el derecho del colectivo menor debe primar sobre el del mayor. Entonces el concepto de autodeterminación nunca puede ser equitativo ni simétrico. La autodeterminación &quot;corre&quot; siempre en el sentido de la desagregación, de la segregación. No le llamen entonces &quot;derecho de autodeterminación&quot;. Llámenle &quot;derecho de separación&quot; 1 , porque sirve sólo para crear unidades menores, nunca para crear unidades mayores. Para crear unidades menores se necesita apenas el 51% de los individuos con los que se pretende crearlas. Para crear unidades mayores se necesitaría siempre la unanimidad, pues, en caso contrario, aunque la mayoría fuese abrumadora, siempre le cabría a la minoría restante (en unas determinadas condiciones de territorialidad) invocar su derecho a la autodeterminación para revocar el anterior resultado. Por esta reducción al absurdo podríamos llegar al caso de que un grupo de amigos (o incluso un único individuo) a bordo de una zodiac desembarcase en algún islote desierto y proclamase su independencia. Ya sé que no es un argumento brillante (aunque de hecho algún movimiento nacionalista, como el MPAIAC, alguna vez hizo algo parecido), pero no por ello deja de ser contundente. Expone, además, otra de las falacias de la autodeterminación: su vinculación a un territorio. El 51% de los catalanes podría imponer al otro 49% que dejasen de formar parte de España básicamente por que viven en el mismo territorio. En un grupo de 5 amigos que viven dispersos, 3 de ellos no pueden obligar a los otros 2 a cambiar de pasaporte, pero si resulta que se encuentran juntos en un islote deshabitado, al parecer tienen derecho a determinar su nacionalidad, o, en caso contrario, considerarlos extranjeros en el territorio que tan graciosamente se acaban de apropiar. Sin embargo, también son muchos los que reconocen que, en su empresa, este recurso no está suficientemente aprovechado. A pesar de los esfuerzos para incentivar el trabajo y crear un clima favorable, sigue existiendo la impresión generalizada de que algo falla, y de que no es una tarea sencilla la de motivar a la gente. Efectivamente, no es una tarea sencilla. De hecho, es prácticamente imposible con los criterios y modelos sobre motivación que se utilizan en muchas empresas. Parte del problema es que la literatura universitaria y de muchos seminarios de educación empresarial se basan en conocimientos psicológicos de hace cincuenta años (como la teoría de Maslow), que se repiten una vez y otra a pesar de estar demostrada su limitación práctica. En esta nota técnica intentaremos explicar con cierta profundidad los aspectos más importantes que motivan a las personas en su actividad, recogiendo los trabajos académicos sobre este tema que se han desarrollado en los últimos años. Esperamos que estas ideas den lugar a sistemas de incentivos y políticas de motivación más ricos e innovadores que los que acostumbramos a ver actualmente en las empresas. En concreto, muchas veces los sistemas de incentivos adoptados por los departamentos de recursos humanos asumen que a los trabajadores sólo les interesa el dinero o lo que se conoce técnicamente como recompensas extrínsecas. Dado que son muchos más los factores que pueden motivar a un empleado, mediante el uso exclusivo de recompensas extrínsecas se apela sólo a una parte de su motivación. Más aún, se corre el riesgo de perder a quienes buscan algo más que dinero, los mismos que podrían convertirse en los empleados más comprometidos y leales a la organización. Una de las mayores dificultades en la vida del ser humano es conocerse a sí mismo y poder desenvolverse con seguridad en todo lo que realiza, actitudes que se ven reflejadas al momento de relacionarse en la sociedad y sobre todo en el rol que desempeñan en el ámbito laboral. Se dice que una empresa es mucho más exitosa cuando sus trabajadores presentan una personalidad positiva. Es fundamental propiciar una sana aceptación de si mismo y de las circunstancias que te rodean y desarrollar ciertas habilidades que te resultarán fortalecedoras en este proceso. Es por eso que en el presente trabajo trataremos de explicar cómo es una persona con buena autoestima y como influye esto en el desarrollo competitivo en la organización, ya que en los últimos tiempos han ocurrido cambios que están obligando a que la sociedad valore más la productividad y competitividad de los individuos dentro de las organizaciones.
