Il en est de même pour le Danemark où la perte de la Norvège en 1814 et la défaite de 1864 face à la Prusse et son alliée l’Autriche revêtent une importance toute particulière. Les prémisses de ce phénomène sont toutefois perceptibles dès le Moyen Âge, la <em>Geste des Danois </em>occupant à ce titre une place primordiale. Nous souhaitons profiter de cet anniversaire pour faire le bilan du long règne (1380-1422) d’un roi d’abord bien-aimé, puis contesté. La journée permettra de faire dialoguer des historiens et des historiens de la littérature autour d’une figure royale dans l’entourage de qui on rencontre de grands auteurs comme Philippe de Mézières, Jean Froissart, Christine de Pizan. Par ailleurs, cette période présente un caractère paradoxal pour l’histoire politique de la France. En effet, en dépit de la maladie du roi, de la guerre civile et de la guerre contre l’Angleterre, l’État continue de se construire comme l’ont montré de nombreux historiens à la suite de Bernard Guenée.
