and they shall make holy garments for Ahron your brother and for his sons to serve as Priests to me. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And those shall take gold and blue fringes and purple and dye of scarlet and fine white linen.<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And they shall make the ephod of gold, the blue fringes, and purple, and dye of scarlet, and fine woven white linen, work of a craftsman. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Let two shoulders be joined to it on its two sides and it shall join. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>The girdle of the ephod on him: the work of it shall be as of gold and blue fringes and purple and dye of scarlet and fine woven white linen. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And take two stones of beryl and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Six of their names engrave on one stone and the six names that remain engrave on the other stone, according to their births. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>Engrave the work of a craftsman of stone, the engraving of a seal; engrave two stones with the names of the sons of Israel; make them mounted and set in gold. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And set two stones on the shoulder of the ephod, stones of memorial to the children of Israel, and Ahron will be bearing their names before LORD JEHOVAH on his two shoulders for a memorial. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And make settings of gold; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And two chains of pure gold, make them double twined work, and set the two chains double on the settings.<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And make the breastplate of judgment the work of a craftsman, as the work of the ephod; make it gold and blue fringes and purple and dye of scarlet and make it fine woven white linen. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>It shall be square when double, a span its length and a span its width. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And you shall set in it settings of stones, four rows of stone: the first row, ruby and topaz and lightning (diamond), row one. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And another row, a garnet and sapphire and an onyx. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And the third row, a jacinth and a chalcedony and a calf’s eye. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And the fourth row, chrysolith and beryl and jasper, and they will be mounted, set in gold in their settings. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And let the stones be engraved with the names of the twelve sons of Israel by their names, the engraving of a seal; let each man be according to his name for the twelve tribes. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And make double chains on the breastplate, twined work of pure gold. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And make two clasps of pure gold for the Mercy Seat and put two clasps on the two sides of the breastplate. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And put two braids of gold on two clasps upon the two sides of the breastplate. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And the two braids put on two settings and you shall put it on the shoulders of the ephod on its front. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And make two clasps of gold and set them on the two sides of the breastplate on the side that is upon the edge of the ephod from within. <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And make two clasps of gold and set them on the two shoulders of the ephod from beneath, on its front, against its joint, above the girdle of the ephod. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And they shall join the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod, with a cord of blue fringe to be on the girdle of the ephod, that it will not remove the breastplate from the ephod. <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>And Ahron will be bearing the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment on his breast when he enters the Holiness, a memorial before LORD JEHOVAH constantly. <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And put on the breastplate of judgment, light and peace, and they shall be on the breast when he enters before LORD JEHOVAH, and Ahron will bear the judgment of the children of Israel on the breast before LORD JEHOVAH constantly.<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And make the apron of the ephod entirely of blue. <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>And the opening of its top will have within it a lip; it will be for the opening encircling the work, woven like a mouth; it shall be of cord that it will not rip. <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And make on its hem, pomegranates of blue and purple, and dye of scarlet on its hem, encircling, and bells of gold encircling between them: <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And a bell, a bell of gold and pomegranates on the hem of the apron, encircling. <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>And it will be on Ahron for ministration, and its sound will be heard when he enters the Holiness before LORD JEHOVAH, and whenever he exits, so that he would not die.<p> <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>And make a crown of pure gold and engrave upon it an engraving of the seal: "Holiness to LORD JEHOVAH.” <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>And put it on a cord of the blue fringes and it shall be on the turban, and it shall be on the front of the turban. <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>And it shall be over and between the eyes of Ahron, and Ahron shall be carrying the sins of the holy things which the children of Israel hallow for all the gifts of their holy things, and it shall be over between his eyes constantly, for their acceptance before LORD JEHOVAH.<p> <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>And make a coat of fine white linen and make a turban of fine white linen and make the girdle the work of an artist.<p> <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>And make coats for the children of Ahron, and make for them girdles and tiaras; you make them for honor and for glory. <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>And you shall clothe them, Ahron your brother and his children with him, and anoint them and perfect their hands, and hallow them, and they shall serve as Priests to me. <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>And make aprons of fine white linen for them to cover the flesh of their nakedness; they shall be from their waist and unto their thighs: <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/28-43.htm#aramaic"><b>43</b></a></span>And they shall be on Ahron and upon his sons when they enter the Time Tabernacle, and whenever they come to the altar to serve in the Holy Place, so that they will not receive sins and die;
