Editorial policies </span> </li> </ol> </nav> <div class="page"> <h1 class="page_title">Editorial policies</h1> <p>All manuscripts received are acknowledged immediately. All submitted manuscripts, including invited articles, are subjected to a two-tier evaluation process. First, the editorial staff decides on the general suitability of the submission for ADMET and DMPK. Manuscripts found unsuitable and/or not complied with the Author guidelines will be returned to the authors in about a week. All other manuscripts are subjected to peer review involving at least two external reviewers. Authors will be notified of the editorial decision based on the recommendations of the reviewers (generally within 2 months after submission).</p> <p>Manuscripts must be accompanied by a covering letter, which should include a brief explanation of the importance of the subject and how it fits within the aims and scope of the Journal.</p> <p>Please include suggest 3 potential reviewers in the covering letter. Please make sure that the suggested reviewers should be totally independent, and not connected to any of the authors of the submission (i.e. same institute, and/or acted as co-author in any publication in the last 3 years are not acceptable). It is important to suggest a mix of reviewers from different countries and different institutions. Please ensure that the complete and accurate contact information for the suggested reviewers, including a valid institutional email address, ORCID or Scopus ID, or link to a publication record are provided. Persons to be excluded from refereeing may be named as well, including the reason.</p> <p><u>Ethical Standards</u></p> <p>The Journal has zero tolerance on any breach of research or publication ethics including plagiarism, submission of fraudulent results/data including doctored figures, dual publication and false or incomplete attribution of authorship. It will also be considered malpractice for an author to make inappropriate contact with a referee/Editor during the review process with the aim of influencing the editorial decision. Information about the journal's publication ethics is available here</p> <p><u>Conflicts of Interest</u></p> <p>All authors are requested to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of beginning the submitted work that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, their work. Further information concerning how the journal handles conflicts of interest is available here <a href="https://pub.iapchem.org/ojs/index.php/admet/coi">https://pub.iapchem.org/ojs/index.php/admet/coi</a></p> <p><u>Authorship</u></p> <p>Requests to add or remove an author, or to rearrange the author names, must be sent to the Editorial Office and must include: (a) the reason the name should be added or removed, or the author names rearranged and (b) written confirmation (e-mail, fax, and letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed. Any requests to add, delete, or rearrange author names in an already published article will follow the same policies as noted above and result in a corrigendum.</p> <p><u>Work involving human or animal subjects or tissues</u></p> <p>ADMET and DMPK honors the updated ARRIVE 2.0 Guidelines <a href="https://arriveguidelines.org/arrive-guidelines%20">https://arriveguidelines.org/arrive-guidelines</a> for reporting <em>in vivo</em> animal experiments. We encourage authors to also include the Essential 10 set of items to support best reporting practice, which promotes reproducibility of animal-based research. Authors should include in the Materials and Methods (Experimental Procedures) section:</p> <ul> <li>A statement identifying the institutional and/or licensing committee approving the experiments, including any relevant details. Care and use of experimental animals must comply with all relevant local animal welfare laws, guidelines and policies. For research reporting experiments on live vertebrates and/or higher invertebrates, experiments must comply with relevant institutional and national guidelines and regulations.</li> <li>Evidence that authors took adequate steps to ensure that animals did not suffer unnecessarily at any stage of an experiment, whether acute or chronic.</li> </ul> <p>When reporting a study that involved human subjects, their data or biological material, authors should include a statement that confirms that the study was approved (or granted exemption) by the appropriate institutional and/or national research ethics committee (including the name of the ethics committee) and certify that the study was performed in accordance with the ethical standards as laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards. <a href="https://www.wma.net/what-we-do/medical-ethics/declaration-of-helsinki/doh-jun1964/">https://www.wma.net/what-we-do/medical-ethics/declaration-of-helsinki/doh-jun1964/</a> If human subjects are used, manuscripts must be accompanied by a statement in the Methods section, indicating that:</p> <ul> <li>The experiments were undertaken with the understanding and written consent of each subject.</li> <li>The study methodologies conformed to the standards set by the Declaration of Helsinki.</li> <li>The study methodologies were approved by the local ethics committee.</li> </ul> <p>If human cells are used, authors must declare in the manuscript: what cell lines were used by describing the source of the cell line, including when and from where it was obtained, whether the cell line has recently been authenticated and by what method. If cells were bought from a life science company, the name of company (that provided the cells), cell type, number of cell line, and batch of cells should be provided.
