Focus and scope </span> </li> </ol> </nav> <div class="page"> <h1 class="page_title">Focus and scope</h1> <p style="text-align: justify;">ADMET and DMPK is an open-access journal devoted to the rapid dissemination of new and original scientific results in medicinal chemistry, natural product, biophysical chemistry, analytical science, advanced materials, pharmacology and pharmacy. Particular emphases of the Journal are placed on understanding of the interactions between therapeutic agents (either synthetic or naturally occurring) and biological systems, in the context of <em>in vitro</em> and/or <em>in vivo</em> systems, including absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, toxicology or pharmacokinetics. The therapeutic areas of interest of the Journal include, but are not limited to: oncology, neuroscience, infection, cardiovascular, respiratory and immunology.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">For manuscripts reporting novel synthetic compounds, the Journal requires that: (1) the characterization data (e.g. HRMS, NMR) of the compounds must be included, (2) the molecular target of the compounds described must be known, and (3) must be demonstrated experimentally. For studies involving natural products, if the molecular target is unknown, some data to provide insight into the mechanism of action is required. The Journal does accept submission on the actions of biological extracts of unknown chemical composition and/or unknown concentration. Studies supported by molecular docking and/or <em>in silico</em> predictions may be accepted provided that novel insights in molecular design and target engagement are revealed and must be supported by experimental data. Studies dealing with novel physiological based pharmacokinetic modeling approaches that complied with the Journal鈥檚 Modelling and simulation ethics (<a href="https://pub.iapchem.org/ojs/index.php/admet/pbpk">https://pub.iapchem.org/ojs/index.php/admet/pbpk</a>) are particularly welcome. The Journal encourages studies dealing with latest progresses in materials science and their novel applications in the field of pharmacology and/or pharmacy.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">ADMET and DMPK welcome translational pharmacological studies including preclinical and early clinical proof-of-concept case studies. However, the Journal does not publish first in man phase I, phase II, III or IV studies. Studies based solely on meta-analysis are not acceptable.</p> <p>ADMET and DMPK publishes the following types of contributions:</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Original research papers</span><br>Original research papers describe original experimental work according to the standard scientific format: Title page, abstract, keywords, abbreviations, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, references, figures and legends. There is no obligatory length restriction. However, as a guideline, the length of such papers not often exceeding 10,000 words.  Shorter manuscripts are welcome.           </p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Feature articles or Review articles</span><br>Review Articles are usually solicited by a personal invitation to the author. However, unsolicited reviews are also welcome. All reviews are subjected to the same evaluation process.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Reviews should be overviews of recent developments in research fields generally aligned with the aims and scope of the Journal, with a fair representation of different aspects of the topic. The format include: Title page; abstract; keywords; abbreviations; introduction, headings, subheadings, discussion, references, figures and legends, which will vary depending on the subject. There is no obligatory length restriction. Reviews should not contain unpublished original results of the author.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Short communications, Notes and, Letters to Editors</span><br>In addition to research/review manuscripts, Short communications, Notes and, Letters to Editors discussing recent published articles or topic of currently scientific interests are welcome. The contributions will be sent to an independent referee for evaluation. The format include: Title page; abstract; keywords; abbreviations; introduction, headings, subheadings, discussion, references, figures and legends, which will vary depending on the subject.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Book reviews</span><br>The Journal publishes book reviews on monographs or books that aligned with the aims and scope of the Journal. Book reviews generally analyze the content, format, argument and context within which the book was written, and argue whether the book is worth to read. The format include: Title page; abstract; keywords; abbreviations; introduction, main content and conclusion.</p> <p> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Authors are responsible for their research works, animals used for experiments, presentation and interpretation of results.
