Bury your dead in the best of our tombs. No man of us will deny you his tomb to bury your dead.” <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And Abraham stood and he bowed to the people of the land to the sons of Khyth. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And he spoke with them and said to them: “If your souls are willing that I bury my dead from before me, hear me and ask for me of Aphron son of Tsakhar, <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And he will give me his double cave that is beside his field for full cost; let him give it to me among you for an inheritance of a tomb.” <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And Aphron dwelt among the sons of Khyth, and Aphron the Khythite answered and said to Abraham before the sons of Khyth and before everyone entering the gate of his city, and he said, <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>“No, my Lord, hear me; I have given you the field and I have given the cave in it to you before my sons with me; I give it to you; bury your dead.” <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And Abraham bowed before the people of the land. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And he said to Aphron before the people of the land, “If you will hear me, I shall give to you the money estimate of the field; take it from me and I shall bury my dead there.” <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And Aphron answered and said to Abraham, <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/23-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>“My Lord, hear me; the land is four hundred shekels of money. What is it between me and you?
